How To Make Homemade Salsa from Canned Tomatoes

A few months ago I redeemed my Swagbucks and ordered a case {or was it two?} of canned tomatoes from Amazon.  At the time I was planning on using the canned tomatoes for homemade pasta sauce.  But yesterday night Monkey Boy got a craving for chips & salsa.

Ingredients:

{2} 14.5 oz cans Hunt’s seasoned diced tomatoes
1 hand full of cilantro
1/2 red onion {chopped}
2 jalapeno peppers {seeded}
2 cloves of garlic {peeled}

Toss items into a blender and pulse until you reach your desired consistency.

Fast. Easy. Delicious. Serve with a bowl of warm tortilla chips.

      I agree! Way better than store bought.

    To give your salsa more jalapeno flavor…boil a saucepan of water and add the whole jalapeno for about 15 minutes . Let cool then slice and de-seed (if you want).

    I tried this recipe this weekend (but I kept the seeds in the jalapenos) – we loved it. Thanks :)
