Let’s get this party started!

Today I am giving away a $100 gift card to Amazon.com!

Why?  Because I  Amazon.com.

Plus, the fact my UPS man is a total hottie and the only time I get to see him in those tight brown khakis is when he delivers me presents from Amazon.com is kind of a big deal too.

I would want the Leatherman. Although the squirrel panties would look great on my 3 inch waist, the Leatherman might actually help me to survive!

  2. Melissa says

I just subscribed to the email newsletter. I should have done it some time ago. I love this blog as it helps keep me motivated.

  3. Stephanie in SC says

I have subscribed to your blog. Even though it takes away from the anticipation of checking your blog each day, to see if you’ve posted :-)I love this blog!!

  4. Stephanie in SC says

I would want to have the survival book. I’m sure it would tell you how to find water and things like that.

  5. stacie may says

oh heck yeah on that leatherman! my husband had one military issued when we first got married and that thing put furniture together, opened boxes, etc….very helpful on a deserted island as well 😉

  6. katie p says

I’d ask for a bunch of water purifiers, a multi tool and a satelittle phone. Can you get those of Amazon? Probably, you can get EVERYTHING on Amazon and I love it almost as much as I love your blog!

  7. says

ok….ignore that previous comment. i obviously am not alert yet because i haven’t had my diet coke! i’d pick the leatherman.

  8. says

i just subscribed to the email newsletter and i’m “sharing” on facebook because i already “like” you 😉

  9. Andrea says

although the squirrel undies are quite tempting, i think i’d have to go with the leatherman

  10. Kari says

Definitely the Leatherman. I’ve always thought those were the neatest things since sliced bread!

  11. carolyn says

i would want the book. i would not have a clue how to survive on my own… really like your website and and i also really like amazon.

  12. jenny says

I would have to go with # 3. The Leatherman would be nice, but I would have to have the book to help me use it!

  13. Hailey says

The pink squirrel pants were tempting but….i’d have to go with the Leatherman. PS is there anyway you can sneak a photo of your UPS man? Iam curious to know how those khakies look. :)

  14. Jenni in KS says

I would ask for the multi tool. I already have a whole shelf of survival books, many of which I’ve read, and we used to teach survival skills to our Boy Scout and Girl Scout groups. Having the tool, although not essential, would make it easier to put some of that knowledge to use.

  15. marybeth says

I feel like I would need the leatherman but I probably wouldn’t be able to figure out how to use it, so I’d choose the survival book.

  16. says

I would have to have the book! I need something to read in order to live. And it would be handy to know how to survive out there.

  17. mh says

I will have to go with some kind of tool, tarp and rope but I think some chocolate coconut water would be great too.

  18. Tera says

I would want #2. I think I could figure out how to survive, but doubt I’d be able to create that tool!

  19. Robin says

Hi I liked u on facebook today but I’ve actually liked u for a long time. Hope I win I loved Amazon too! Robin in SoCal

  20. says

I think I would have to go with the revised book so I could compare it to our old book and as well as the military issued survival books we own plus we already own a few multi-tools. :)

  21. says

I subscribed to your emails. I’m really excited about that. I find myself asking “What would Mavis do?” pretty often. Love your site and am excited for the new year!

  22. kari says

I subscribe to your daily newsletter! I just found your blog today, but have followed you on fabulessly frugal. So glad I can read more that you have written — you made my day!

  23. Desi says

I am already a subscriber. Thanks Mavis for sharing your love for coupons and Amazon with all of us.

  24. says

I would chose Item number three, because while a leatherman would come in handy, I’m all about knowing what kinds of plants and berries I can eat and I’m hoping the survival book would help me out with that. Great giveaway and I LOVE the new look:-).

  25. Sarah says

If I thought there was reason to hope that I’d be rescued soon, I’d choose Item #3. But if I were fairly certain that I’d die alone and starving and hallucinating, I’d want Item #1, just to try and slip them on a girl squirrel for maniacal laughs.

  26. Robyn says

I would want the leatherman, even though the other 2 would be helpful, one for information and one for laughs :)

  27. Angela says

I would definitely take the survival book…then I would have something to read!! Although I was somewhat tempted by the squirrel underpants! :)

  28. Melannie says

I subscribe to your emails already though there have been some wacky ones in my inbox the last couple of days.

  29. Ann says

CONGRATULATIONS on making your goal of $100 a month on groceries! wow. I AM impressed. =)
I am new to your blog (referred by a friend, via facebook).
I would like to be considered for your amazon gift card contest. I have “LIKED” you on facebook. =)

  30. Ann says

I have subscribed (via email) and look forward to having your posts delivered straight to my email so I can read them. (I’m new to the “blog” thing, didn’t know how to subscribe any other way).

    thank you for the opportunities!

  31. says

…and I just subscribed to your email newsletter (thinking I need to read it since there was one month this summer that we spent as much on food as you spent the whole year!)

  32. says

I have subscribed to your newsletter and can’t even wait for this year!!!! I am in the early stages of planning my VERY FIRST garden….wish me luck! :)

  33. Jessica says

Haha! I just found you through pinterest! Fun blog! I now stalk you. Wait! I mean follow….yes follow… :)
I am not sure which item i would like to have….#2 or #3….I think I will have to go with #2. I haven’t seen Les Stroud with a book or Squirrel panties yet, although I think that would be a VERY interesting episode of Survivor Man!
Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  34. Brittany F. says

I don’t know if the book would be any good if you didn’t have items it suggested, so I’ll take the Leatherman. The gag gift…comes in a close 2nd.

  35. Pattie F. says

I would want the leatherman! I am already pretty outdoor savvy and think the tool would be way more useful to me than the book.

  36. Heather S. says

I think I’d have to go for item #3. I wouldn’t know what to do with number 2 without number 3, and although #1 is funny (who knew they’d have something like that and how on earth did you find it?), I’d want a fighting chance :)

  37. Paula Walter says

I would choose the Leatherman tool…although the book might come in handy. I think with a tool and common sense you could survive , especially after watching The Colony lol!! I love your blog you are so humerous! Thanks, amishwoman49

  38. says

For sure I would choose the Leatherman 830032 ~ with a leather sheath no less! Not only could I use the Leatherman for many things…I could figure out a way to eat the leather sheath if in dire need of nourishment!

BTW ~ I entered this comment in two different places, please disregard one of them!

  39. Lyn says

Geesh, I guess I’d pick the leatherman tool, but wouldn’t know how to use it. The book would be helpful but then I would have no tools and would have to make my own. As for the squirrel panty thing (what the heck?) Oh well….I was hoping for a choice of bottled water or food, but I guess that choice would not be as interesting. Either way, I would wish for lots of fruit and plentiful fish on this island, but I have a feeling that might be a Tom Hank movie pipe dream. How about a sport ball for a friend to talk to? No?? Hey, I tried.

  40. Lyn says

You are officially liked on FB. Oh, and no offense to Tom (I meant Hanks, of course).

P.S. I too vote for a photo of Mr. UPS Hottie. I mean, really, Mavis, give the people what they want, right?
