I would like you to know we are now living in a world where a can of soda now has 9 grams of fiber in it.
Yesterday the HH were running a bunch of errands {stopping by Market Basket was one of them} when I noticed they were proudly selling SINGLE CANS of soda for $2.00 a piece.
What!? How can this be?
FACT: The HH hates shopping with me because:
1. I rarely go out
2. It’s like a whole new world when I do
Not only are people paying $2.00 for a can of soda these days, but apparently you can now buy soda with 9 grams of fiber in it! How wild is that!? Have you tried this soda? Is it any good?
Don’t people get their daily vitamins and fiber from food anymore? Did you know 1 avocado has 10 grams of fiber in it?
Wouldn’t you rather eat an avocado than drink a can of soda? I know I would.
I told the HH he needed a good pair of walking shoes for this summer because I have BIG PLANS. He bought a pair of Hoka shoes.
This was the first time in his life he has had a pair of athletic shoes like this. All that white on the bottom of the shoe… I don’t know.
He says the Hokas propel him forward a bit when he walks.
I don’t know though, they look kind of strange on him. And maybe a little too sporty. It’s hard to get used to him wearing them.
Walmart now has electronic price tags. When did this happen?
How often do they change the prices? Have you ever seen the price change as you were standing there? $5.18 for all that eyeshadow seemed like a good deal to me.
$7.97 for 1 tube of deodorant seemed a little high though.
And last but not least, Walmart also sells sequin fabric! Who knew? I wonder how many tube tops I could make out of 1 yard of fabric.
Well that’s all I’ve got. I hope you have a great weekend.
Maybe I’ll see you in the clubs. Maybe I won’t.

I tries the Olipop and could not finish it, it was awful tasting and had a weird chemical flavor I couldn’t identify despite he lengthy list of organic ingredients.
Hoka athletic shoes. I own a pair of these overpriced shoes and they collect dust, I hate the contour of the soles as they make me feel unstable and like I have rockers on my feet.
Deodorant. Yep, it got expensive and I am always cringing when I have to buy it for the family. I made a point of telling my kids they don’t need extra sticks of deodorant in their hockey bags or school backpacks because they would just loose them and it costs me a pretty penny to replace them.
Sequin fabric. I cannot imagine what you would make or use that for.

Which model Hoka do you have? I gave some to my mom and she had the same unstable feeling. She said the Stinson feel unstable for her, but the Bondi do not.

I tried a few of the probiotic sodas. I tried a few flavors of Olipop but it makes me have horrible stomach aches. It also has a weird taste to me.
I did try “Slice Soda” brand in the orange and lemon lime and those were decent and did not make me sick. Costco sold a box that was pretty cheap.
I bought them to try as a treat when I wanted a soda, but not all the sugar.
I would buy the citrus Slice again someday.
I like Brooks Adrenaline GTS sneakers in wide so my toes are free and they are perfect with plantar fascitis and other foot issues, plus they look normal.

$5.18 is NOT a bargain for those hideous eyeshadows. Unless you’re going out clubbing. Or clowning. ;^)

Mavis, it could be worse, he could’ve bought the ultimate dad shoe, the New Balance 608s. Finally broke my husband of them when he turned 60. 🙂

Hilarious!

I guess I’m not a sweaty person, but one stick of deodorant lasts me a very long time. I buy it at Costco in a multipack, and on sale, so it’s cheap. I’m probably good until 2035 🙂
I’ve not seen those digital tags in my Walmart store yet, but I guess they’re coming soon. Not sure I like them though since the item description on the digital tag is pretty cryptic and difficult to decipher. I can see even in your photo that one of the deodorants does not match the item on the tag below it, so someone will be paying a different price than expected if they don’t check the tag below the item carefully.

I once saw the price of gas go down on a big electronic sign after I’d made my purchase…was I irritated.

You are quite critical, Mavis.
But seriously you asked the HH to get good walking shoes and he did and now you don’t like that they have too much white at the bottom? Or that they look funny on him? Sometimes your blog reads like an ornery grandpa commiserating about how the world has gone to hell in a handbasket. I mean you also clearly appreciate beauty in nature, simple joys, and creating lovely things. I wonder if you are truly that critical or it’s just a fun writing style for you? I know some others get a kick out of it — It does make me much more aware of how often I am critical though so I love that!
