My friend Jen is in England this week with her husband and as I was going through photos of my trip to England last fall with her I realized I forgot to tell you about the Knightsbridge Hotel.
I had stayed in the general area a few times before and loved the location {a mostly private residential street} and knew the area was walkable, safe and quiet.
When we went last fall, Jen had just retired from teaching for 34 years in the public school system. So this trip was a really big deal and we wanted to live it up so we decided to book a really nice room to share and not look back.
And it was SO worth it!! We all need a little splurge once in a while, and this hotel was a 10/10 for both of us.
The room was very posh, the hotel staff was fantastic and this place really was all the things you’d want your first stop in London to be.
A complimentary glass of champagne is included with our hotel stay. Jen was thrilled! Especially since I pretty much only drink tea and water. She knew she’d get both glasses of bubbly.
Even better than the coupon for free bubbly was the beautiful fruit plate and card we found in our room when we came back from our first outing.
Pro Tip: When a hotel staff member asks what brings you to the city {or wherever you are} ALWAYS tell them! You never know… Sometimes something exciting will happen {like a free fruit plate or an upgrade to a better room}.
It doesn’t hurt to mention why you are there.
After a trip on the subway to Kew Gardens and a walk around the city a bit, at the end of the second day Jen decided to call down for our {her} free champagne.
One of the reasons I love traveling with Jen is because both of us consider pickety bits {and pastries} a meal. Neither of us could care less about fine dining on a trip.
There is too much to see! Who wants to waste 2-3 hours in a restaurant when you’re somewhere exciting?
I brought along my collapsible kettle on our trip so I called downstairs for two tea cups. 🙂
Jen had her two glasses of champagne and I had my two cups of tea. Does it get any better than that!?
Breakfast was pretty spectacular {and included with our stay} at the Knightsbridge Hotel too. You could pretty much have anything you wanted.
Tea and toast, a hot meal or something from the fresh fruit and yogurt area.
I took some photos on our last day of the table we ate at every morning. They also offer an afternoon tea service at the hotel as well.
Had we not already had reservations at Fortnum and Mason we could have definitely enjoyed it at the hotel instead.
In fact I remember telling my husband when I got home that I could easily stay at the Knightsbridge hotel for a week and never leave. Everything was so perfect!
The room, the food, the staff, the area. I want to go back again someday.
London, it’s one of my favorite big cities. Actually, it’s probably my #1. If you ever get the chance to go, and are looking to splurge, I can’t recommend the Knightsbridge Hotel enough.
Traveling, I sure do love it.

You know what? We were in London at the same time you were. We saw both of you multiple times, including at a train station. Was it Bath? It’s been a while since then! I didn’t want to bother you while you two were having such a great adventure, but I absolutely LOVED seeing you post places on your blog that we had visited that same day!
It was my first trip to England, and I can’t wait to go back!
