Online Things
It was a busy week all the way around. Busy in the yard, busy in the barn {did you see the video I shared on Instagram the other day?} busy in the house. Just plain BUSY!
To say it was a productive week is a huge understatement.
Online/craft wise I was able to get some quality hooking time in. I can’t seem to stop hooking giant whale rugs. And I’m good with that. Hopefully I can have this beauty done by the end of May.
With the exception of 1 trip down a rabbit hole {that lasted 2+ hours!!} I pretty much stayed off the internet last week unless it was blog or Etsy related.
I’m getting better at prioritizing my time {saying no a lot helps} and staying focused on things I should be doing as well as things I WANT to do. 🙂
Online Goals for 2025
- Reach 20,000 sales in Etsy shop MavisButterfield {I’m currently at 18,857}
In Stock and Ready to Ship by March 31st{DONE!}- Create 4 new patterns/kits {2 completed so far; Great Black Whale Rug and Pod of Black Whales
- Take all new pictures + videos for Etsy shop {in progress}
Get as much as humanly possible done online January – March of this year.- Stop picking up my phone so much {Doing great with this!}
- Spend less than 3 hours a day online {Yep!}
- Tidy up the back end of the blog HA HA HA
House Things
I painted 2 {tiny} closets yesterday! I think I’ll work on the living room area next. It would be totally AWESOME if I could get the entire downstairs painted by the end of May.
Maybe that should be my next “house” goal. It would make me so happy if I could do that. We have some rain days in the forecast so now’s the time to get busy!!
- Paint The Inside Of The House {including closets!}
- Paint The Interior Window Trim
- Remodel Bathroom #1
- Freshen up Bathroom #2 {Just need to install the facet and hang something on the wall}
- Put Stuff On The Walls
- Work on “new” Kitchen Game Plan
Garden Things
The tulips are in full bloom at our place. I now wish I would have planted these in FRONT of the fence rather than the daffodils {that we’re still waiting to appear}.
At this rate, the peasant eye daffodils that I planted in front of the fence won’t be blooming until mid to late May. How crazy is that?
The daffodils in everyone else’s yard in town are in bloom. But not ours. It’s so strange. The HH thinks it’s because they were covered with heaping amounts of snow {thanks to the plows}.
But I don’t know.
The Rocco tulips are also in bloom and I am really happy with them. They’re gorgeous!! The color is almost an electric red.
Garden Goals
- Grow 365 pounds of food in my teeny tiny backyard.
- Install a side yard {flower} garden {hopefully next week}
Make a Potting Bench{decided I didn’t need one}- Make a Garden Cart to sell flowers/veggies out front
Kitchen Things
I didn’t try any new recipes. But I did make $20 at my little “farmstand”. The tulips were the big sellers… Noone wanted the shelling peas. 🙁
I only had my stuff out for 1 day. But hey, $20. Not bad.
Note to self: Order stencil for cart. Sign doesn’t look good.
- Try 12 new recipes {3 down, 9 to go}
- Fill the canning cupboard
New Recipes I’ve Shared This Year
- Double Chocolate Rye Cookies
- Velveeta Zesty Chili Dip
- Haddock and Corn Chowder
- The Best Way To Freeze Avocados
- Freezing Refried Beans
Travel Things
The HH and I went to Rhode Island! More about that later.
- Explore more of the great state of Maine
- Go on a painting holiday {currently working on WHERE to go}
- Québec City {Accommodations and 1 tour booked!}
- Travel Overseas {All accommodations and 2 events are booked!}
- Send the HH on a vacation {working on it!}
Marriage Things
Not only did we take a quick trip to Rhode Island, but we also went to our favorite taco place for lunch.
We also got a couple of good walks in. And I kept the HH busy with projects. It was fantastic all around.
- Keep my husband busy
- Date days
- Walk more
Secret Projects
All my “stuff” has arrived to start working on secret project #1. Now comes the hard part. Doing it.
Setting goals is always a good idea. It’s the follow through and holding yourself accountable that’s the hard part.
Did you make any goals for 2025? How are you doing? Curious minds want to know.
Peace Out,
~Mavis

The tulips are beautiful!

Could you use a big fat chalk marker for lettering directly onto the cart? Wouldn’t work in the rain, and I’m not sure whether you’d need to put chalkboard paint down first, but maybe… (esp. since you’ll want the sign to be versatile?)
