bits and bobs: A random assortment of things; small remaining pieces and things
Do you own a butter slicer? I spotted this at the kitchen store the other day and kind of wanted to hang around and see if anyone picked one up so I could strike up a conversation with them.
I have the BEST strawberry rhubarb pie recipe on the planet earth. Maybe you need it, maybe you don’t, but here it is.
I don’t know why the universe thought I needed this, but the other day stick and stitch packs from Clever Poppy found their way onto my screen and now I can’t stop thinking about how fun it would be to add a little squirrel to the back of my jean pocket.
Am I too old for this kind of thing?
Basically you just stick the design on to fabric, stitch, and then rub the backing away under a little water. How cool is that?
I read two articles on the BBC website recently that I thought were pretty interesting.
The first one was about a man named Quintin Lake who over the course of 5 years, walked 6,835 miles around the coast of mainland Britain.
He walked for 454 days {breaking the trip up into segments of 2 days to 2 months}, camping along the way.
Walking 6,835 miles around the coast, that could be interesting. I wonder if there’s anyone would be crazy enough to do it with me?
Meraki. I just discovered this word. And I love it. Card by AlluvionPrints
And last but not least…
In case you didn’t know, hot girls hit curbs. 😉 I had to laugh out loud when I saw this on the back of a car. It totally remind me of my driving adventure in England last summer with my friend Jen.
Driving on the other side of the road is HARD!!! We didn’t know what a bunch of the signs meant as we were driving by them. I bought a UK road guide book though so this time around when the HH and I go I’ll at least know what they mean.
Traveling. It’s pretty much my favorite thing.
That’s it. That’s all I’ve got for today.
I hope you have a great weekend!

Butter slicer, conceptually I understand it if someone wants absolutely perfect little pats. I just use the lines on the wrapper and poke with fork tines before unwrapping. The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Frye is a wonderful fiction book about walking hundreds of miles through England, although for a specific purpose. You may have read it.

Meraki is exactly how I would describe what you do in your writing, rug hooking, tutorials, and living life. You are an inspiration.

Lucy knows what you’re up to and is giving you stink eye lol. I remember way back in the day embroidering chambray shirts. My brother still wears his when we visit. It’s classic. Go for it. You might enjoy the Salt Path written Raynor Winn. A semi memoir about a couple walking the 630 mile SW coast path in England. The movie was pretty good, stunning backdrops but I would watch almost anything with Jason Issacs .

Just today, the London Times had a lead article on how the book is largely a fabrication and that the wife part of the duo in a previous life embezzled over 60,000 pounds from a small family firm.

How do Lucy and the HH fare while you’re away on one of your travel jaunts??
