I bought a dress. Well actually, I bought FOUR dresses! Four linen dresses with pockets that were made to order. I still can’t believe it. I love the dresses so much that I had to tell you about them.
Other than when I was a teenager, I don’t think there has ever been a time in my life when I’ve owned four dresses at the same time. In fact for the last 10 years or so I’ve only had 3 dresses in my closet.
A classic Calvin Klein black dress I bought maybe 10 or 12 years ago {for $20}
My pilgrim dress {it will never go out of style}
And the Jessica McClintock dress I found on ebay a few years ago {I wore the exact same one to my freshman homecoming dance} and HAD to have it.
Maybe I’ll wear it someday, maybe I won’t.
So really, I’ve had just one appropriate dress I could wear out in public hanging in my closet for the past 10 years.
That was… Until I found some SUPER simple linen dresses on Etsy last month and decided to take a chance and order them.
Yes they are all a solid color {but I like solid colors!}. And yes they are all made from the same fabric {linen! I LOVE linen}.
All the dresses will travel well {and dry quickly if I need to wash something overnight in the hotel sink}.
I could go anywhere in these dresses. A museum, a picnic, afternoon tea, a stroll through the countryside…Plus I’d have plenty of room for seconds if I went to a buffet.
And the best part… I think I could actually get away with wearing my super comfortable loafers with all of these.
This navy blue linen dress with pockets is my favorite one. I have a feeling I’ll be wearing this one quite a lot.
The HH says the flipped collar looks silly. But I don’t think so. I think if you went to high school in the late 80’s or early 90’s or were a prepster you’d totally think it looks normal.
But seriously, I still can’t believe I bought four dresses! I think I look like a real grown up now. Who knows, maybe I’ll go all in and buy a necklace and get my ears pierced next.
Okay, so probably not. 😉

P.S. Here are links to the dresses I ordered if anyone is interested. Ordering was super easy. All I did was give them my measurements and ask for the dresses to have pockets {there was not an extra charge for pockets}.

- Sleeveless natural linen dress with pockets
- Sky blue wrap dress with pockets

The blue one is awesome! Maybe add a cute belt to the others to give some shape? Also, there are a lot of really cute (and comfortable!) sandals out there to keep you cool all summer long. Love the linen look and great for travel! What a great find!

Lovely! They’ll travel well, but linen does wrinkle! If you’re going to pack them in a suitcase, you might want to also pack a small bottle of wrinkle releaser spray.

I love all of them and they look lovely on you. Also, pockets!

Ooohhhh I love linen clothing! I never iron linen because it’ll be wrinkled within seconds of putting it on. Great score! Going to check out that Etsy shop.

I love your dresses, they look perfect on you! The loafers also pair nicely with the dresses! However, if you want a comfortable pair of sandals, I got a pair by Dr Scholl, style “women’s time off sky” that are super comfortable and have a sole similar to a sneaker so walking in them is a breeze but yet they look nice to wear with a dress!

Love the two blue ones! I actually think you could size down on all of them. They’re all cute!
