A year or two ago I came across the Belmond train website and since then, have wanted to take a train journey in one of their gloriously restored vintage train cars.
And as it so happened, there were a few journeys available to book while my Mother and I were going to be visiting London. After going through all the options, we decided on the British Pullman Train experience to Nutbourne Vineyard and Winery.
Even though I’m not a wine {or really anything other than tea} drinker, I LOVE visiting wineries.
I’ve probably been to close to a dozen or so over the years and each and everyone is so incredibly unique that I find myself wanting to go back for more.
Everything from the reception at the train station to the train ride itself was much more than I had anticipated and I {we} loved every moment of it.
The train cars, the staff, the FOOD, the vineyards and the tour around the winery was totally top notch and could not have been better.
I even found out that the train car we were assigned to; Perseus, was one of Winston Churchill’s favorite train cars and was even used during his funeral procession after his state funeral in London.
I’ve made a video of our day and shared it on my youtube channel if you want to see a little more of our train journey and a better look around the vineyard.
Getting out of the house, and seeing something new is always such a treat. I’m so glad I had someone to share this experience with! 🙂
