Online Things
Let’s just say it was a fantastic week in the getting things done department! And I sure love weeks like that.
For starters, I was able to share a new rug hooking video “fat black cat” to my youtube channel.
I also added 16 bundles of my favorite “night sky”wool to my Etsy shop.
Staying off the internet was pretty easy this week because I had SO MANY things to work on that it kept me busy. I love weeks like that.

House Things
I finally finished my work in the bathroom!
Now all that’s left is for the HH to caulk the trim, hang the two brass knobs on the back of the door and hang the new blind. All of which will be done this week.
I’m really happy with the way our small but mighty main bathroom turned out. For such a small space, I think we did really well.
This past week I was also able to get the upstairs closets/cubbies painted as well as the sections of the hallway I had wanted to get done.
There is still more painting to do in other parts of the house, but I’ll save that for another week.

Kitchen Things
I made some really good progress on the canning cupboard this past week!
It’s starting to fill up and I’m planning a trip to the local farmstand in the next day or two to see if they still have boxes of canning tomatoes so I can make some sauce.
My goal is to fill the cupboard up with canned goodness by the end of the year and I think I’ve made a good start.
All those apple pies… It’s going to be a tasty winter. 🙂
Kitchen Goals
- Try 12 new recipes {3 down, 9 to go}
- Fill the canning cupboard

Travel Things
I was working on my packing list for my hiking trip in Utah and discovered I don’t have shorts!
Yikes! I only have cotton shorts and apparently you are supposed to pack those {only synthetic fast drying shorts} so now I have to track some of those down.
Also, those mini creamers {thanks for the suggestions!}. I still need some of those too.
Explore more of the great state of Maine

Québec City{Accommodations and 1 tour booked!}Travel Overseas{Spent over a week in the Cotswolds with the HH}Send the HH on a vacation{He went to NYC!}- Hiking in Zion National Park {This wasn’t planned – but how could I say no?}
Marriage Things
And last but not least, the HH is back home. He was gone all of last week {how do you think I got so much done?} and he brought me back a bag full of treats.
I’ll have to see if I can squeeze a box or two of cookies into my camping bag for tea time on the trail. HA HA HA. Wouldn’t that be a hoot.
While the other peeps are eating their trail mix, I’ll get to enjoy a proper tea break.
Life. Sometimes it’s crazy and sometimes it’s not. But right now, there are a hundred million things happening all at once.
Here’s to a wonderful and restful Sunday {I hope}.

I’ve been unsubscribed from getting my email reminders that you’ve made a blog post. So I just read this whole week in one go. Where are you moving this time??? I see Scotland/England in your future!!!!
Honeybee says
Your bathroom looks smashing. What a great use for the party buckets.
Linda Sand says
Now, the trick will be getting your fellow hikers to take long enough breaks for you to brew your tea plus eat your cookies.
Christa H. says
Yep- I’m guessing a move overseas soon to check off your bucket list. I think you went on vacay together to scout places and he went back to finalize or look more. You are getting things prepped to sell here at some point- probably the beginning of the year.
You’ll have a much larger garden where you are going, which is why he didn’t want to expand the gardens here. Then there’s the secret stuff you are working on.
Interesting clues…..and I’m excited to see what happens within the next year!

Love the bathroom!
I’ve been chipping away at my goal of getting back into the freezer meal game. I don’t know how many meals I’ve made because I’m pretty disorganized these days, but I think it’s about 20.
I also finally cleaned out the kitchen nook (been driving me nuts for years).
Finally, one of my goals is celebrating holidays more. My three year old is very into puzzles but struggles a bit with the cardboard kind, so I’ve been buying blank wood puzzles off Etsy and painting them. I made a Halloween set for him, and I just ordered more to make a Christmas set for him
Mavis Butterfield says
Wooden puzzles are great for little hands! I think it’s pretty cool that you can paint your own! I had no idea that was a thing.
Kayla says
Maybe you could find a wooden puzzle kit that is paint by number…
Mel says
I mainly did it out of necessity sis he has so many motor issues, so I’m not sure if it’s otherwise a thing, but he has loved them! And they helped him work up to the regular kind.
I’ll try to send pictures!
Lesley says
I’m not thinking another move as much as a second home or pied a terre overseas. Too much work on the seasonal buoys to leave now! Can’t wait to hear … surely it’s a mystery project in the making!
Louise says
Lobster House turns into bnb complete with buoys.
Teri says
That’s what I was thinking, with all the tourists it would be great.

Now that the bathroom turned out so well, I can say -it’s beautiful. The cabinet and floor just hit the mark. Crazy shelf looks good. Great job

Your bathroom is gorgeous. Well done! The navy blue vanity is perfect for Maine. The scallop pails are just adorable.
PNW Vickie says
Love your bathroom redo – great choices! And the canning cupboard is getting filled. Your jars make the apple pie filling very appetizing . . . I have a Hoosier cabinet that I use part of for storing jams, and it’s full this year! Still getting tomatoes here in the PNW and lots of okra. My husband and I are from the South and love okra! You did get lots done last week – good job!
