Online Things
While I was mostly playing catch up this past week after being away on my hiking trip, I did manage to work on a few wool sunflowers. Mostly in the evenings.
I have a new Thanksgiving pattern in the works so I’m hoping to get that drawn out and hooked in the next week or two.
Hanging out in the great outdoors is good for your soul and a GREAT way to unplug and to realize you don’t need to be on the internet as much as you think you do.
I loved it, and I’m already plotting another week away from everything electronic related.

House Things
Even though I’m supposed to be working on painting the inside of our house, I’m already dreaming of looking at paint colors for the new studio space.
The HH pulled up the old carpet, padding and tack strips in my new office space over at the studio. I told him it would be easier to “visualize” what I wanted to do with the space without carpet.
And he totally believed me. HA HA HA.
I suppose this means we’ll be heading to the paint store this week to look at samples. 🙂

Garden Things
The tulips bulbs that I ordered this summer arrived. This week we’ll work on getting all 500 of them in the ground.
The plan is to put some in front of the picket fence and plant the rest {for cutting and to sell at my flower stand} on the side of the house where this year’s small but mighty vegetable plot was.
I’m super excited about being able to expand the yard next summer and to have a proper space for growing vegetables. I didn’t hit my goal of growing 365 pounds of vegetables but I should have no problem doing so next summer.
Here’s what we’ve harvested so far:
- Butternut squash 9 pounds 8 ounces
- Green Beans 5 pounds 2 ounces
- Pumpkins 15 pounds 6 ounces
- Radishes 8.4 ounces
- Rosemary 2 ounces
- Sugar Snap Peas 1 pound 2.3 ounces
- Strawberries 5 ounces
- Tomatoes 21 pounds 15 ounces
- Zucchini 4 pounds 7 ounces

Marriage Things
While we didn’t go on any beach walks this past week we did take a few loops around the neighborhood, went out to dinner with some old neighbors and worked on a few projects together.
As much as we’re both looking forward to a restful winter, we’re also excited to have a new project to work on. Okay, so maybe I’m just a wee bit more excited than the HH. 😉
But still. It was a good week.
HOW ABOUT YOU!?
What have you been up to lately? Anyone still picking tomatoes?

I’m excited to see your plans for the new studio space. Wondering if you think you will match similar to what you did in your home or if you will do something funky in there?
I completed a bucket list goal- to enter the NC state fair. I signed up on the last day and turned in my stuff 3 weeks later. Every canning item won! I got 5- 1st place and 9- 2nd place for 3 kinds of pickled items and 11 dried items. I also won 3rd in the rock painting that I did of my rooster and 3rd in the decorated blown egg contest for the NC egg association. I was shocked to say the least.
