Yesterday we stopped by the Habitat For Humanity Re-Store to have a look around.
I’m on the hunt for some inexpensive furniture for next door {mainly bedroom furniture and a couch} and well, you never know if it will be a wasted trip or not until you go so you might as well stop by and have a look around if you’re in the area.
At least that’s what I told my husband. The HH, he doesn’t share my enthusiasm for used items. But he also doesn’t like to pay retail. Go figure.
Husbands are weird.
This time around there were some really good finds. Most of which I couldn’t use like this entertainment cupboard for $150.
Or this swivel chair {too wobbly}. It was in the color range though.
A nice seaside lamp. Not quite the look I’m going for but cute.
A Big Chill induction stove for about half the price as a new one. I didn’t need that either. I’m pretty sure it will make someone’s dreams come true though.
Pottery Barn Desk for $300 with file drawers. Nice, but a little more than I was looking to spend.
I thought this pine red painted cupboard was a good find too… But I don’t have the right spot for it.
4 metal bar stools for $45. What a deal!!
And then all the sudden I found something I could use and as I was telling the volunteer I wanted to buy it I could hear the HH say it won’t fit {in the car} under his breath but I moved so fast and got it to the front counter and paid super quick and that was that and guess what!?
It fit in the car!!!
All it needs is 10 minutes with the sander and a fresh coat of paint and for $20 I think I got a deal. It even has a cute drawer knob! I’m going to use it as a desk in the new office/guest room.
I’ll try and get a better picture of it this weekend.

And, as an added bonus, on the way home I spied some free pots alongside the road and what do you know… He turned the car around and went back for them.
I was shocked! It was a good day. 🙂
Here’s hoping you find something good this weekend too!
Have a good one. And don’t forget the glitter. Peace Out.

I love the ReStore but the one near me is definitely hit or miss. I’ve driven by that one many times but never stopped in. I may have to make a field trip soon.

Mavis, where is this Restore? I’ve been looking for that Pottery Barn chair for a while!

Your husband always looks like an LL Bean model! Glad he’s also a trooper and sees the value in your vision.

That was fun. Your store looks so much nicer than the one we have two towns away. One of those pictures might have made it home with me.

Score! I love the hunt and the deal! Why buy new when you can buy unique!

I have no problem buying used wood or metal furniture, but refuse to buy used upholstered. Smoke, pets, etc

That entertainment center could be made into a closet for coats, etc or art supply cabinet converted with a pole and some end cups. Habitat can be a resource for creative renovations.

Wow, your Restore is so much nicer that ours! I never see anything as nice as these items, but you have reminded me to check more frequently. Good luck with the new table, that’s a great find!
