The other day I popped on Craigslist looking for furniture. I’m not much of a Craigslist shopper, but every once in a while I take a look to see if there is something worthwhile on the site.
These days I’m on the hunt for furniture. And while there weren’t any bed sets or cool entry/coffee/side tables or desks that I was interested in, there was a set of 4 white rocking chairs for $120.
Which, I thought it was a great deal considering the same rocking chairs brand new are going for $129 each {plus tax} at The Home Depot. We’ve had these type of rocking chairs before and I really like them.
Four white rocking chairs were actually on my list, which was the funny thing. And while I hadn’t planned on buying any until next summer, I couldn’t pass up a good deal.
They can hang out in the buoy barn until we can set them out next summer.
Another great find {in my eyes} was this plant stand {I think it’s a plant stand} I bought from a neighbor for $10 {she threw in a free lamp and some cool magazines too!}.
I have the perfect corner for it. The plant stand is going to take a little elbow grease. The HH says it belongs in the trash heap. I’m going to prove him wrong.
Other great finds I picked up recently:
A nice, sturdy wooden chair for $10. {It will go great with my thrifted desk once I paint it}.
I LOVE this chair! And I even like the worn look it already has but just am not in the room it’s going to be placed in. Maybe I’ll add a seat cushion, maybe I won’t. I suppose only time will tell. Too bad there wasn’t a set of them available.
Oh well. I’m just happy I found a good, solid chair.
And last but not least, a console table for $25. Yes, it needs to be stripped. But winters in Maine are long and well, come February I’ll be glad I have some indoor projects to work on.
Save where you can and splurge on the stuff that really makes your heart go pitter patter.
So what do you think? Did I find some deals… Or are they all junk like the HH says?
C’mon… I know it’s team Mavis all the way on this one, right? 😉

Team Mavis! Excellent finds!

Neat finds. I wonder if your plant stand might have been a birdbath? Whatever its original purpose it will make a splendid plant stand and I would have snapped it up as well.

That is what I thought. Looks like someone built the top out of a garbage can. A. lot of rust that has been painted over.

Yup! You done good girl! How about hooking a chair pad for the chair and maybe soften the seat with a cushion the same size to protect your tush?

They are all wonderful finds!!❤️ Enjoy!

The plant stand is great! Instead of a cushion for the chair, hook a chair seat!

Great finds! Your chair might need a hooked pillow cover made by you

I’m like you. I love a good find, especially if I see potential that others miss. I’m thinking the plant stand might be a beverage cooler. Put ice and drinks in it for a summer party.

Team Mavis! Happy dance

You scored big time! All great finds. I don’t see a problem with the chair, I will likely go in the mix seamlessly. Natural wear is the best in any decor. Pus you can always hook a seat pad for it if you think it needs a boost.
