A wee bit of snow fell on Sunday evening giving the whole town a nice cozy vibe to it.
I LOVE the snow.
The HH, he’s not as excited about it. Probably because he’s the one who has to gear up and clear the driveway and shovel the steps in the frigid temps.
And well, I can’t blame him for that.
But a fresh blanket of snow just makes everything seem so much more magical. Especially at Christmas.
While we were out running errands yesterday I snapped a few photos. It seems like there are more businesses and homes with wreaths on their doors this year.
And not just in the downtown area.
A Christmas goose!
A pooches with scarves.
And check out this garden planter.
And the side of this barn!
As we drove by the beach we counted exactly 4 people on it. FOUR! I’ve never seen it that empty.
It was eleven degrees yesterday. That probably had something to do with it.
Winter. I think it arrived a little early this year. And while I don’t mind the cold temps as long as there is snow on the ground, I do miss going out on long walks.
Oh well. Spring will be here soon enough. I might as well stay in and get my fill of baked goods and hot chocolate while I can.
Here’s hoping you have a great Tuesday, wherever you may be.

P.S. What’s the weather like right now in YOUR neck of the woods? Curious minds want to know.

I live in eastern Washington and we have had upper 50s, rain, and wind. There has been some sunshine mixed in too. Nothing like it usually is at this time of year! We will be having a muddy Christmas this year.

I live in Arizona and the temps are in the upper 70’s. It’s glorious. Lots and lots of Christmas lights – just no snow in our area. I grew up in Minnesota, but I don’t think I could handle the cold anymore, but I love the pictures!
Also, I have to tell you I was in your town this fall and passed your house! We were driving down the road and I recognized it from your photos. So fun!! Love following your adventures!

I live in central Iowa and we’ve already received more snow than we had for all of last winter. It has been fluctuating between 10 degrees and 40 degrees.
Mavis Butterfield says
WOW!! And we still have a few more months to go.

North Florida – 30’s during the night, 40’s-50’s during the day. It is supposed to warm up to the 70’s in a few days. I don’t like cold . . .
Mavis Butterfield says
That’s chilly for Florida. For some reason I thought the whole state was warm this time of year.
Rosemary says
Nope. This past January we had snow – about 1-2 inches. That is not usual, but it does happen.
Cheryl says
I live in south Western Pennsylvania and we got 5 inches of snow on Saturday. Around 8 inches near Pittsburgh. Very cold and 8 degrees for the past two mornings but at warm-up in the next day or two of around 40-50 degrees.

I checked….Only 94 days until Spring!
Mavis Butterfield says
HA HA HA!
Lynn says
In Maryland, pretty much the same as your weather (not as much snow but we do have snow on the ground-a bit unusual for this time of year) although it may hit 40 today!
Leslie says
Western Washington…so much rain here. Our nearby rivers hit record highs last week and we’re getting more rain causing flooding, mudslides and failing levees.
RobininSoCal says
SoCal this week we are high of 77-85, lows 46-50’s. There’s a good chance next week we will see some rain, maybe on Christmas.

I live in very south New Jersey, Cape May to be exact. Had about 2 inches of snow on Sunday. Very cold and windy last 2 days….feel like temps were – 2 degrees. Today a more normal 30 degrees. We get quite a bit of wind off the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean. We are on the crosshairs of both! Usually get snow from storms coming up from the south….much colder last few weeks than it should be… way too early for this cold. Google Cape May…a beautiful place to live!
