Online Things
With just 3 days left in 2025, this will be my last goal post for 2025. It’s been a BUSY year!
Especially in the online department.
I wanted to show people in video form how to hook a rug. I did that by starting a youtube channel and breaking down how to hook a rug step-by-step. In my own way.
I wanted to hit 20,000 sales in my Etsy shop. I was able to do that too. I’m currently at 20,150.
What started as a simple idea to sell a few extra pieces of wool I had in my stash back in 2017 has blossomed over the years from that, into a side gig, then a bonafide business.
There’s never really been a plan. Just one day at a time, let’s see where this goes kinda thing. And well, here we are.
Other goals I had were to stop picking up my phone so much, limit my time online to 3 hours a day, create 4 new patterns and get as much done as humanly possible {Etsy shop wise} between January – March.
I was able to do all those things too.
Pretty much the only goal I wasn’t able to hit in the “online goals” category was tidy up the back end of the blog.
But hey… There’s always next year for that, right? 😉

House Things
In the “house things” department things were a bit more hit and miss. But things were off to a really good start.
Our house, although super small, is kind of a quirky space and unless we were going to de-camp and live in a hotel for 2 weeks so I could only paint the inside of the house in sections.
For the first half of the year, I’d pick a small section of the house and paint it. And while a bit claustrophobic at times I was moving at a decent clip.
Then we found out our neighbors {a local business} were moving and were going to put their place up for sale and well, that changed everything.
So here we are. A half painted house, and a whole nother set of “house” projects we didn’t anticipate at the beginning of the year.
It’s crazy and chaotic but hey… I do LOVE a project. 🙂 We’ll figure it out. Hopefully sooner than later. Ha!
House Goals
- Paint The Inside Of The House – Halfway there
- Paint The Interior Window Trim Halfway there
Remodel Bathroom #1Done!Freshen up Bathroom #2Done!- Put Stuff On The Walls – Halfway there
- Work on “new” Kitchen Game Plan – Didn’t even come close!
Garden Things
Although it was a great year in the garden {especially flower wise!} I wasn’t able to grow 365 pounds of vegetables in my backyard.
I’m pretty sure though I’ll be able to hit that goal next summer, no problem.
We were able to get our garden beds fine tuned, add more plants and work within the space we had pretty well.
I’m really looking forward to being able to expand our gardening footprint next year.
The compound will look SO MUCH better once the driveway is reconfigured and we get to reclaim the original garden spaces.
Garden Goals
- Grow 365 pounds of food * Nope. Didn’t happen. Maybe next year?
Install a side yard {flower} garden{DONE!}Make a Potting Bench{decided I didn’t need one} Wait. Now I do. 😉MakeFIND a Garden Cart to sell flowers/veggies out front{DONE}
Kitchen Things
After almost an entire year of eating primarily salads, I did in fact try 12 new recipes and shared 11 of them.
I’m not sure if I’ll be posting the 12th recipe this week {there are a few other things I want to write about} but promise to share it soon. 🙂
My only other goal in the “kitchen” department was filling the canning cupboard.
And while I had every intention of filling it {I got off to a good start with carrot cake jam and apple pie filling} by the time prime canning season rolled around we were knee deep in a whole new set of projects next door.
I literally didn’t have a moment to spare this summer. Some years are like that.
You think you’ll have all the time in the world to get things done and then something pops up and your attention gets diverted.
Kitchen Goals
- Try 12 new Done!
- Fill the canning cupboard

Travel Things
It was a wild and crazy year in the travel department. It hit every travel goal on my list except one: Explore more of Maine. How did that happen?
For Christmas last year I gave my husband tickets to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. He loves cars. I love England. It seemed like the perfect gift. A win-win vacation if you ask me.
He saw a bunch of Formula One drivers, I enjoyed tea and scones. We had a great time.
There were other mini and not so mini holidays too, but I think I liked that trip the most because I was with him. 🙂
- Explore more of the great state of Maine

Marriage Things
We’ve been married for 31 years, Together for 33. I have no idea how we are still together. We are different in so many ways… And maybe that’s the secret.
As I look back on all the things we did together this year, I cannot believe we packed so much in. Between work and travel and house projects galore it seems like we’ve been in constant motion.
But then I think, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
And while I’m sure my husband would appreciate a few more down days on the calendar, I can’t help but think staying busy is way better than watching cat videos on the internet.
Keep busy. Keep talking. Keep finding things that excite you.
I hope this year brought you more ups than downs. I hope you were able to do the things you wanted to do. And if not, I hope you get to do them soon.
Wishing you the best of these last days of 2025.
~Mavis
