Is it just me, or does it feel like Thanksgiving was a month ago? Seriously.
Why is it that Thanksgiving week and the week between Christmas and New Years always seem to move at their own pace?
They’re always a bit of a blur really.
You never really know what day it is or what you should be doing or where you’re supposed to go next.
Just that it happened. You were there. There’s a little extra food in the fridge.
During this odd little portal in time, Thanksgiving week and the week between Christmas and New Years you get to indulge and make excuses and maybe, if you’re lucky, hit the pause button for a bit longer than you normally would.
Sometimes, you also get a peek into someone else’s world and see that the things that you do, are the same things they do too.
You are in fact normal.
Like believing that the word dishwasher means just that. DISH-WASHER.
Happily paying $4.33 for 1 onion and a half gallon of milk from the corner store.
Enjoying a bowl of your favorite soup.
And having enough for the next day and some to pop in the freezer as well.
Meals that take all day to make, meals that take 3 minutes to heat up.
Meals that only require you to show up and pass a few dollars over the counter.
Eating anything, with anyone, pretty much anywhere.
I love this time of year. Even if it always seems to move too fast.
