Just a quick head up to let you know our local Costco has their fresh wreaths, garland, poinsettias in stock and ready to adorn our home!
If my Costco here in Maine has them, your’s probably does too!
I told the HH we should only buy a live tree this year to decorate the cottage because come spring we can plant it!!
The HH said the only decoration the cottage needs is a leg lamp in the window and I nearly passed out.
I had hoped he had forgotten about it.
Apparently not!
Flocked trees. Remember those? Did you grow up with one in your living room all ablaze with fat colored bulbs on Christmas morning?
I did. And I loved it. 😉 I wonder if you can still get flocked trees anymore?
Costco has mini ones. Which presumably you can plant outside. Even with all its flockedness.
At $19.99 I think Costco has the best looking fresh wreaths in town. I can’t remember how long we had ours up last year. The end of January?
Here in New England a good percentage of people don’t take them down until the ground thaws.
Which I thought was a little strange. But I get it now {too cold!}.
25 feet of fresh garland for $18.99. What a deal. Cheaper than a cheeseburger and fries and it will stay green all winter.
I loaded up!
I also splurged on some shatterproof ornaments. I’m going to hang those up on the fresh garland on the picket fence.
Buoys on one fence, garland and ornaments on the other. After all, I don’t want the compound to look all matchy matchy.
Looking for C9 lights?
Costco has those C9 lights we were all talking about last week. 100 fat bulbs for $23.99 seemed like a good buy to me.
I was pricing them online and they were that much for half the bulbs!
Waxed amaryllis bulbs. Have you tried these?
I saw these last year at Costco and didn’t like the idea of a bulb being trapped in wax so I didn’t buy any.
I passed on them again this year. Did you buy these? How were the blooms? I’d love to know.
And last but not least, big poinsettias for $15.99. I thought that was a good deal.
Cedar garland was the last thing I needed from Costco for the year. Now after we get the place decorated for Christmas I can settle in and work on all house projects.
I LOVE this time of year!
I don’t know about you, but I am ready for snow!!

I do the waxed amaryllis bulbs every year. They are so easy due to no watering required. I give them as gifts , and people enjoy them due to the low maintenance. After they bloom I take off the wax and place them in dirt so they can rebloom again. Since it is warm where I live, the amaryllis bulbs can be planted outside and acts as a perennial . Amaryllis bulbs brighten up the holidays!

I’m excited to see the outside of your house this year with buoys and more!

I also passed on the amaryllis last year because I thought the wax was strange. In a moment of weakness I bought the set of three about two weeks ago. I gave two to my kids and the one I kept is a foot tall and ready to bloom!!
As usual, Costco knows what it is doing!! ❤️

Please let hubby have the leg lamp on the cottage lol, he’s worked hard 🙂

… I thought you’d decided to not use live garland ever again because it made a giant mess when it dropped its needles? Or is this for glorious outdoor decoration?
Wish we had a Costco here…

I bought the waxed Amaryliss at Costo last year. They grew nicely and produced lovely flowers. I know some people have gotten a second flowering.

I laughed out loud when you mentioned that your husband thought the only decoration needed was the leg lamp in the window. Fortunately, my husband hasn’t requested for one of those lamps….yet.

I bought the waxed amaryllis bulbs when I saw them in September, I believe and bought them to try. I love them! No maintenance involved. They bloomed beautifully. I just bought another box at Costco today.

I buy the wax amaryllis bulbs every year. They bloom for me in late January when the ground here is covered in white. It like a peek into springtime when the winter blues have kicked in. You should try them.

A friend had the waxed bulbs last year and they bloomed like crazy.

That is a deal on the waxed bulbs. I just saw single ones in a catalog for $45 per bulb. I’m hoping that at least included shipping. With the rave reviews folks have shared I’d be tempted to buy a set.

We received the waxed blubs from our boss last holiday season. While I did not keep mine they did bloom beautifully and the bloom lasted a long time. I saw these bulbs and all the greenery too in Costco today in Edmonds, WA.
I have a family member that works for Costco and he tells me the procurement team is no joke! They are picky and fierce negotiators! All the better for us all.
