Living in a small town in Maine is pretty awesome.
I love where we live. It’s like the best kept secret.
George Bailey would have approved of the place, that’s for sure.
This past weekend everyone in town {and then some} came together to light the lobster trap tree.
There were fire pits and baked goods and tons of holiday cheer.
Choir members from the church sang Christmas carols. The fire station served refreshments.
Local business owners set up tables and served up local favorites like chili and oysters. All at no cost.
Where does that happen anymore?
Familiar faces, neighbors that say hello, church bells, holiday bazaars. No big box stores, no chain restaurants. Mom and pop places all the way.
This, my friends, is the good stuff.
Plus, thanks to old man winter, we have SNOW on the ground! And it’s sticking around.
The Christmas season, it has finally begun. And I couldn’t be happier.
Wishing you the best of Mondays from the coast of Maine.
