It was a fantastic week in the meal department. Mostly because I ate all my favorite things.
Beans and salad, salad and beans. I love when that happens! Have you tried Mel’s drunken beans yet? They are fantastic!! And really fill you up too.
Avocado toast. Always a winner.
Hard boiled eggs. Yep. Bananas and hard boiled eggs are my go to food in the afternoon if I’ve feeling hungry. That and a tall glass of water. It’s a winning combination that keeps me from snacking. Not that I was ever a big snacker, but still.
I whipped up a broccoli cashew and bacon salad.
Costco Shopping Trip $20.28
And popped by Costco for a tube of their Quinoa celery salad {it’s SO GOOD!} and a couple of bags of my favorite Mediterranean Crunch salad.
Corner Store $3.69
I also grabbed a half gallon of milk for my tea.
And then I basically ate the same thing over and over for 4 days straight while the HH was away in New York City.
It was AWESOME!
He loaded up on his favorite things {including a pastrami sandwich at Kat’z Deli}, and I loaded up on mine. It was a win win.
He did a ridiculous amount of walking and eating and I did a crazy amount of painting {I’ll show you everything I did tomorrow} and enjoying the silence.
Mini holidays… whether you go somewhere or stay home, they’re pretty awesome!
Have a great Monday everyone,
~Mavis

Mavis, how do you stay so slim eating all that? I am active too, doing food and flower rescue 30+ hours a week, gardening, cooking and more. However, I struggle to keep under 145lb at 5′ 7″ tall and I would like to be 135lb. I am 68 and eat a good dinner, sometimes a lunch, rarely a breakfast as I leave the house at 7am, today I got back at 2.45pm and I usually eat leftovers
What is your secret to staying slim when you eat as much as you do???? Inquiring minds want to know

You do so much painting that maybe you could make a painting tutorial. Something that covers all the prepping that needs to be done first ( leaning, fixing cracks), and what order to do it in (ceiling, walls or trim first). Your favorite brands of paint, brushes, rollers. When to use flat, eggshell, semi-gloss. Do you need to take the doors off or just put some thing underneath and paint it? Still on the hinges? Stuff like that! I have a lot of painting to do when I feel overwhelmed then I’ll do it wrong.
Thanks!
