Today marks the THIRD day in a row the temps here in Maine will be above 40 degrees. I’ll take it!
Sadly though, the heatwave won’t last for long. After today the highs will be back in the 20’s and 30’s. Oh well. I suppose that’s why it’s called winter. 😉
What do you think of my coat?
The HH and I stopped by Costco {for batteries and socks} the other day when we noticed all their coats were on markdown.
Guess how much the one I’m wearing was?
FOUR DOLLARS!! Can you believe it? When was the last time you could get a brand new coat for four dollars?
Is the coat my favorite color? NO. Is it going to win any fashion awards? No. But for four dollars? Come on now… That’s a deal.
The coat is warm and has a nice fuzzy lining plus as an added bonus it has huge pockets!
Look at the pockets on this sucker!! Seriously, they’re huge. And perfect for beach combing if you ask me.
While I’m always on the lookout for buoys and other oddities that wash ashore, I’ve been on the hunt for usable pieces of driftwood and clamshells lately.
Yesterday I scored big time.
I plan on using them to make a wreath for the front door once everything dries out.
But a new coat for four dollars? I think that was the best find of the day!
Have you found any crazy good deals lately?

There is a little country store in my neck of the woods that has amazing deals. One of the lates was 80 pounds of organic bananas for….$10. You read that correctly. So, we bought the 80 pounds and distributed them to a local food bank.

That’s is a crazy deal!!! Wow.

Costco has the best prices on coats and clothes – even better when they are marked down! Great score. I would’ve bought it too.

a few years ago now, i bought 3 coats at walmart for 7 dollars a piece. i’m on the last one now, wear it everyday to do chores around the yard and such, walking the dogs in the woods, call it my knock- around coat so i don’t care if it gets messed up. it washes and wears great, i think this might be its last season though and i will be sad to see it go. can’t beat 4 bucks!

Extra (new) coats purchased at such a great deal would make wonderful gifts for the less fortunate too. 🙂

This week my Kroger had Nestle Toll House Morsels for $1. Regular 5.49. No limit

What is that beautiful building behind you on the beach? I would guess hotel, but in that part of the world, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s someone’s home.

Old hotel turned into condos. 🙂

Score! I buy a lot of cotton clothing from Costco. If you like the brand 32 degree that they often carry you should check out their website. They sell a lot of liner type clothing but also regular stuff. It’s a small shop with fantastic reviews and great prices.

I’ve been buying a lot of the 32 degree clothes lately from Costco-mainly pants. Did you try the pull on jeans?

Looks very cozy and…maroon/Cranberry is my favorite color after blue. Cranberries are big where I live plus we have a Cranberry colored car, doors, bows on wreaths, Yada Yada. I agree you really hit a bargain there. You’d likely pay more at a charity shop!

Would those shells come from something like a geoduck from the Puget Sound in the PNW?
Mavis Butterfield says
I think these are called sand clams here but the shells are very similar to the geoduck shells.

Cool! Thanks!
