Yesterday I went for a walk and found a roll of blue duct tape on the side of the road. So of course I picked it up and brought it home. Wouldn’t you? I mean really, how could I walk past that?
When I do stuff like this, the HH just rolls his eyes at me and tells me to go wash my hands. HA HA HA.
And then a few hours later, I went for a bike ride and passed by a house with a “free” table set up and hit the jackjpot!!
No, there weren’t any terra cotta flower pots {I’ve been hoping for some of those all summer} but there was plenty of other treasures… Just waiting for someone to come by and scoop them up.
And so I did!!
A lided wicker {laundry?} basket in excellent shape. Yes please.
Three plastic totes. These will be perfect for holding some of my larger paints and other craft supplies.
A set of six brand new lidded storage containers!!
A set of five {new!} wooden crates. I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to do with these but hey, free crates.
Two seagrass trays. Seriously, don’t you wish you passed by this freebie table?
A beachy mirror. It needs to be cleaned up a little and maybe it could even use a fresh coat of paint but I have the PERFECT spot for this.
Call me crazy but I think I hit the jackpot. And the best part? If I can’t find a use for something, I can always stick it out at the end of my driveway with a free sign on it.
Maine. I love it here. You just never know what you are going to find alongside the road.

Mavis I would say you hit the mother load for sure. Those wooden boxes? Have you thought of drilling holes in the bottom and making flower planters out of them? Just a thought.

Mavis, you definitely scored big-time! Enjoy your new treasures.

The items seem like new!!! Total jackpot. I wonder what the story is behind them.

What a haul! Your fall mums would look nice in one of the crates…

Wow! I have never seen such a good find on the side of any road anywhere. Could find loads of uses for all the above! Quite jealous actually 😉

We have generous people here in Nebraska also. I have a lovely little wooden hutch that was on the side of the road. I keep shipping supplies for my Etsy shop in there.

did you run back to the house to get the car? I once wheeled home a big smoker someone was getting rid of while going on a walk!
Debra says
Wow Mavis you did hit the jackpot. I would have picked these items up too. I’m sure you’ll find great uses for them.

Wouldn’t it be funny if:
1) Someone reads your blog and put them out just for you to discover
2) A husband put them out to get rid of his wife’s “clutter”. (And what AWESOME clutter!)

Total score!

On the opposite side of the coin, I put an old secretary desk out for “free” on the curb this past weekend it took about 36 hours, but someone took it away. Words cannot express how happy I am that it has found a new home & that someone else will love it and use it.
