Le Petit Four Bakery – Wellesley, MA.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a bakery recommendation and it’s for a good reason. I’m SUPER picky about my cookies and pastries.

I don’t like wasting my calories on something that tastes like the filling came out of a giant 5 gallon tub of preservative filled goo. I want the real deal or nothing at all.

Yep. I am a total pastry {and cookie} snob. And I’m not afraid to admit it.

As we were making our way to the John Mellencamp concert last friday, we popped by in Wellesley, Massachusetts to load up on treats before the show.

Le Petit Four Bakery is HANDS DOWN the BEST pastry shop I’ve ever been to in the United States.

And if you’ve been reading this blog for a while, then you know I’ve been to a lot of bakeries over the years. 😉 

I’ve been to Le Petit Four Bakery four times in the past 12 months and each and every time, the pastries have been spot on.

I LOVE canelés!!

The apricot danish is always magical.

And the almond croissants are flaky and have just the right amount of almond filling in them.

Did I mention that they make the best pastries ever? 

The chocolate eclairs are so rich, we always end up sharing one. They offer a vanilla eclair too but I’ve never tried it.

Lemon tarts are usually my go to item at any pastry shop. It’s the one item I always want to try first. 

You can always taste the difference when a place makes their own filling vs it coming out of a giant Sysco bucket. You just can’t fake real lemon flavor when it comes to pastries.

Kouign Amann. Have you ever tried one of these? Wowza. Apparently it’s considered the fattest pastry in the world.

The chewy, caramelized top is my favorite part. 

Fact: Someone needs to invent a Kouign Amann scented lotion.

I always order a London Fog tea when I get pastries {and the HH will order a black coffee} but Le Petit Four Bakery is always offering some sort of really fun drink.

Apparently they are super popular. This time around it was mango sticky rice matcha.

Le Petit Four Bakery gets it right on every level if you ask me.

Seriously, if you ever find yourself even remotely near Wellesley, Massachusetts STOP and get a pastry {or 5!}. 

They even serve sandwiches on their delicious baguettes if you need a little something to offset the sugar. 🙂
