Online Things
I wasted an incredible amount of time this past week researching my next project and holy moley people… The internet is a BIG time suck.
I’ve been trying to remind myself of that but it’s not working. My husband said it’s normal to look things up, to learn and yada yada yada but it all just seems so foreign to me.
I’m used to DOING… Not sitting and looking at a screen so much.
I’m probably not even making sense. So I’ll stop.
I made a new rug hooking for beginners video {mini Nantucket whale} and I made progress on my giant whale rug.
Hopefully I’ll have it done by this time next week. Etsy was SUPER slow last week. But this time of year is always slow. Everyone is outside eating ice cream and having a good time.
Myself included. 😉

House Things
I finally finished my Van Gogh painting for the {soon to be} gallery wall. Now I just need to find a frame. I never thought I’d be the type to do paint by number kits but they are so relaxing, I just can’t stop.
I still need to paint the rest of the ceiling downstairs but I think I’ll wait until the fall. The downstairs is finally clutter free and I’d like to keep it that way for just a little while longer.House Goals
- Paint The Inside Of The House {including closets!}
- Paint The Interior Window Trim
- Remodel Bathroom #1 {scheduled!}
- Freshen up Bathroom #2 {Just need to install the facet and hang something on the wall}
- Put Stuff On The Walls {working on it}
- Work on “new” Kitchen Game Plan
Garden Things
My neighbor brought me a zucchini plant, how nice was that?
It will have to stay in the pot though because there’s no more room in the garden. 🙂 I’m excited to see how many zucchinis we’ll get.
We’ve also started harvesting sugar snap peas. We’ve picked twice and so far we’ve gotten about 6.5 ounces. Kiln Guy is already harvesting peas at his place too.
My goal is to grow 365 pounds of homegrown goodness this year. So far we’re kind of off to a slow start. Hopefully we’ll get a bunch of tomatoes and squash later in the season though.
Here’s what we’ve harvested so far:
Sugar Snap Peas 6.5 ounces
Strawberries 3 ounces
Garden Goals

Travel Things
I now have a FOURTH trip on the calendar for this year.
My friend Jen called and asked me if I wanted to go with her and a few other people on a hiking trip through Zion National Park this fall. Without even really thinking about it I said SURE, WHY NOT. What was I thinking!?
The last time I went camping was when I was 18 so it should be interesting.
No salads. No freshly baked cookies. No tea time. No Yogurt!? How on earth am I going to survive? What about the chupacabras?
The idea of unplugging for a few days though… Now that’s something to be excited about. Have you been to Zion before?
Explore more of the great state of Maine
- Go on a painting holiday {BOOKED!}
- Québec City {Accommodations and 1 tour booked!}
- Travel Overseas {All accommodations and 4 events are booked!}
Send the HH on a vacation{He went to NYC!}
Marriage Things
We went out for ice cream twice, went on a ton of walks and the HH even helped me roll the trolley out to the curb. I sold a few buoys and ornaments but no takers on the Captain. Yet.
The HH thinks I’m nuts. Pretty soon I’ll have some more flowers to sell, but for now I guess it will just be buoys and lobster ornaments.
Marriage Goals
- Keep my husband busy
- Date days
- Walk more
So what have YOU been up to lately? Are you making progress on your goals? Curious minds want to know.
I hope you have a great day!

Just got back from two weeks staying in a house on Sunriver Oregon with family! Had a great time hiking, fishing, and relaxing, something I really need to practice. Zion is a wonderful area for camping and hiking. The views are beautiful and the rocks are gorgeous. You will have a great time!

We’ve been to Sunriver a few times and loved it. Did you make it to Sisters, Oregon? They have a great quilt shop there.
