Online Things
I put together another rug hooking tutorial. This time for my busy little bee rug and posted it to my youtube channel.
I also finished the sailboat and little house on my giant whale rug. Now all that’s left is the sky. This rug is taking me SO MUCH longer than I thought it would.
Unfinished projects. Gaa! I should have known I wouldn’t have much time to hook during the summer.
Even though it was a busy week for me, I managed to stay off the internet except when absolutely this past week and I barely picked up my phone. HOORAY! Unplugging is really hard sometimes, and other times it’s super easy.
I think one of the reasons I’m looking forward to going on that big hiking adventure in the fall is because I’ll get to truly unplug for several days. Okay that, and because I’ll get to go to In-n-Out and afterwards.

House Things
I called the tile shop the other day and things are on track for our tile installation in a few weeks.
We’ll have to remove the washer and dryer and the bathroom vanity ourselves, but we are obviously going to wait until the last possible second to do that.
Let’s just hope the HH can line up a plumber to come out and hook everything back up as soon as the tile guys are done because living without a shower for at least a week is not going to be fun. And if the HH doesn’t complete his research for a new washer and dryer and order one in time, well, that will be on him. 🙂
He can hang out at the laundromat, not me. 🙂 I’ve got my own long list of things to do.

I walked into the kitchen and opened a bunch of cans this week. Tuna, Costco chicken, Heinz beans. There was no trip to Costco which meant no salads to fill my belly.

I need to start researching our trip to Quebec! So far all I have done to prepare for that trip is to book a garden tour and a place to stay.
We are headed to Quebec City as well as 1 ½ hours north of Quebec City up the Lawrence River to La Malbaie. None of us have been there before {Kiln Guy and The Chef are meeting us there!}.
I’m super excited, but I usually travel with a detailed itinerary {I don’t want to miss anything!} but the idea of just happening upon stuff seems sort of appealing too.
It looks like an area that would have a lot of farmstands and not be overrun with tourists… Have you been to that area before? If so, I’d love to know your favorite spots.
Travel Things
- Explore more of the great state of Maine
- Go on a painting holiday {BOOKED!}
- Québec City {Accommodations and 1 tour booked!}

The house in the whale rug looks like what I would call a “camp”. I grew up going to my family’s camp every weekend during the summer. Which in New Orleans is MOST of the year! It’s been gone for a very long time and I still miss it! I can’t wait to see that rug finished (as I’m sure you are too)!
Since I bought the bee hooking kit from you, I cannot wait to go watch the YouTube video for it!!! Thank you!!!!

I highly recommend this dining EXPERIENCE in Old Quebec City.

Its pricy, a 3 hour dining adventure and book now as it was recently awarded 2 Michelin stars.
Bay St. Catherine has wonderful whale excursions.
