Online Things
I put together another rug hooking tutorial. This time for my tall sunflower rug and I posted it to my youtube channel last week.
Whenever I travel I always bring a rug hooking project along to work on and it was fun to film the making of this rug as we travelled through the Cotswolds.
I also made progress on my large whale rug and am hoping to have it finished by the end of the week.

House Things
I’ve started back on painting the house again. This past week I was able to paint the closet {cubby?} doors and as soon as we get everything out of the bathroom I’ll start painting in there.
The goal is to have the entire inside of the house painted by the end of the year and so far I think I’m on track.
House Goals
- Paint The Inside Of The House {including closets!}
- Paint The Interior Window Trim
- Remodel Bathroom #1 {scheduled!}
- Freshen up Bathroom #2 {Just need to install the facet and hang something on the wall}
- Put Stuff On The Walls {working on it}

Garden Things
We harvested two rounds of French filet beans from the garden {I love how tender they are} and about a dozen cherry tomatoes this past week.
So far we haven’t had any huge returns but we are a day or two away from picking a zucchini, more tomatoes and another round of beans so we’re getting there.
We have a few beets the size of my thumb growing between the peonies which is pretty exciting too. Just to have SOMETHING to pluck out of the garden is a nice feeling.
At this point I’m not too sure we’ll hit the 365 pound mark, but with the tomatoes and pumpkin plants looking really healthy, you just never know.
Here’s what we’ve harvested so far:
- Green Beans 15.3 ounces
- Radishes 8.4 ounces
- Rosemary 1 ounce
- Sugar Snap Peas 1 pound 2.3 ounces
- Strawberries 5 ounces {the Chippy’s keep eating them!}
- Tomatoes 4.2 ounces
Garden Goals
- Grow 365 pounds of food
Install a side yard {flower} garden{DONE!}Make a Potting Bench{decided I didn’t need one}MakeFIND a Garden Cart to sell flowers/veggies out front{DONE}
Kitchen Things
It was a big salad and ice cream kind of week. 🙂
I still think it’s really strange that I haven’t felt like cooking that much this year. Hopefully things will slow down {HA HA HA} and I’ll feel more like hanging out in the kitchen when the weather cools down.
But seriously, when you don’t eat a ton, the desire to spend 45 minutes preparing a small meal kind of loses its appeal.
Kitchen Goals
- Try 12 new recipes {3 down, 9 to go}
- Fill the canning cupboard
New Recipes I’ve Shared This Year
- Double Chocolate Rye Cookies
- Velveeta Zesty Chili Dip
- Haddock and Corn Chowder
- The Best Way To Freeze Avocados
- Freezing Refried Beans
Travel Things
I have another big trip planned and while I normally don’t check luggage, I was thinking I might want to get a large suitcase and check a bag this particular trip so I could stuff it full of treasures.
I guess the universe agreed because I went to the thrift store the other day to drop a few things off and there was a giant {AGA!} blue suitcase sitting just outside the door waiting for me.
I asked how much it was {$10} and then snatched it up. Yee-Haw. I love when that happens.
I also shared some videos of a few of my favorite places in the Cotswolds and posted them on my youtube channel.
I’m still learning how to use my new camera, but it’s been fun sharing videos and I think I’ll bring the camera along on my next trip too. 🙂
- Explore more of the great state of Maine
- Go on a painting holiday {BOOKED!}
- Québec City {Accommodations and 1 tour booked!}
Travel Overseas{Spent over a week in the Cotswolds with the HH}Send the HH on a vacation{He went to NYC!}- Hiking in Zion National Park {This wasn’t planned – but how could I say no?}
Marriage Things
I kept the HH VERY busy this past week with house projects {the bathroom, patching walls, working in the yard} and we went on a couple of good walks too.
We didn’t have any date days, but sometimes it’s just nice to take a break from that and go on a long drive instead {which we did}.
It was a good week. 🙂
Marriage Goals
- Keep my husband busy
- Date days
- Walk more
How about YOU? Do YOU have any goals you’ve been working towards lately? How are they coming along? And what’s next on your to-do list?
