Get Back To The Basics + Learning to Unplug
It’s amazing what you see when you’re out on a walk sometimes. This past week I spotted a flyer, of a missing fly on the side of a building.
If you’ve seen Justin, please contact the owner.
In The Kitchen
Nothing but super basic stuff coming out of the kitchen these days. Vegetables, pickety bits and cookies. That’s about it.
Food phases are interesting. For nearly a year and a half it was nothing but salads. Now it just seems like vegetable scrambles are on the menu daily.

Go New Places – See New Things
One of the best parts about traveling is the food. Especially the cookie and candy aisle of any store.
Kiln Guy and The Chef picked up a Cadbury Dairy Milk & More bar for me when they were in Portugal and it is THE BEST chocolate bar I’ve ever had.
I love Cadbury chocolate. But this bar, is #1. I wonder if I’ll be able to find another one.

I hope we can keep it up this winter. It’s a little tough to do when the temps dip down into the 30’s, but who knows, maybe we’ll become mall walkers this winter or something.
Maybe I could get the HH to take up cross country skiing? Hmm. There’s a thought.

Garden
The green beans have been doing really well this summer.
We have them growing in the raised beds, tall trellises and on the fence. I LOVE growing pole beans!! And I love how wild they become and will cling on to anything… Hibiscus plants included.
It’s hard to believe {vegetable} gardening season will be over in just a few weeks and I’ll be back inside working on indoor projects again.
Where did the summer go?

I went searching for my sunflower paint by numbers to hang on the wall and realized I never finished my last two paintings!!
How did this happen? I thought for sure I had finished them and they were ready to hang. Now I have to try and find the paints. Hopefully I didn’t toss them.
Monday! Here we go. I hope you have a good one.

It’s a bank holiday here so we are chilling but yes the summer is nearly done! We are going to Spain in an Airbnb so that will extend our summer. My pantry goals are nearly complete, our garden has had a quick revival as we’ve had some rain, our county has been in a drought situation since May which isn’t ideal. I feel on top of things but the garden is still producing. Canned some bruschetta today. Intend to can apple cake in a jar tomorrow. The cupboard is nearly full. The chocolate bar looks lush. They sell locally so may have to try one 🙂

Sadly Cadbury has been sold to an American company and many British are complaining it’s no longer the same….

Responds to Ham and Cheese but mayo is over the edge? Haha. Maybe Justin needs a dictionary?

Square dancing is a fun way to walk in the winter. It’s all walking to a beat with a variety of movements.
