Get Back To The Basics + Learning to Unplug
I have been spending less and less time on the internet and social media this year, which has been fantastic. There are SO MANY other cool things to do with your time than sitting in front of a screen, in my opinion.
That being said, we did check out The Duke from the library and loved it. It was the first new {to me} movie I’ve seen in a long time.
Television licensing in the UK. Holy cow. If you want a rabbit hole to go down, it’s an interesting one, that’s for sure.

Garden
The pumpkin vines on the front fence are starting to get that white powdery mildew on them that they always seem to get at the end of the season.
The pumpkins haven’t a speck of orange on them yet though so I should probably do something about it.
Our neighbor is growing pumpkins as well and hers are already orange. I should ask here when she started her seeds. I don’t think I started mine until around mid June.
Garden Goals For This Year
Rework the driveway and garden areas{DONE!}Go crazy and plant a ridiculous amount of flowers{DONE!}Step out of my comfort zone and plant some flowers I’ve never planted before{DONE!}
Paint
I need to get the rest of the fence stained before the cold weather hits, but I don’t think this week is going to be a good one for painting.
Temperatures in the 60’s though, what a welcome change. What’s this week’s forecast looking like in your neck of the woods?
Is it time to break out the flannel shirts yet?

Jess says
Nowhere near flannel season in central NC. Today is supposed to be 90°. I don’t mind hot weather but it’s mid September and I’m over it.
Heather in Nevada says
Definitely no flannel sheets yet. We are still in the 80s, but we were in the 40s this morning in northern Nevada
Katy @ Practical Walk says
Very different weather here in our region of Texas. We’re counting our blessings when we don’t hit 100! But I’m not complaining, I like the summer and cooler weather will come soon enough.
Tracey says
I waited and waited for my pumpkins to start to blush – then realized they were acorn squash!!
Pat says
We’re still battling 90+ temperatures in Kentucky – I’m ready for cooler weather.
Linda B from Texas says
While living in Alaska, I had to put my pumpkins under grow lights to ensure they turned orange for Halloween. They never turned on their own without help. The moose loved to climb up on our porch and eat the jack-o-lanterns after Halloween!
