Get Back To The Basics + Learning to Unplug
With house projects, beach walks and getting ready for our next guest, it’s been easy to stay unplugged lately. Having guests is cool and all, but the best part might just be cramming to get all the things done before they arrive.
It motivates you to complete a project or two a little quicker than if you got it done in your own time.
In The Kitchen
Zucchini season is coming to a close. We’re down to just about three a week now. I told the HH we should find a spot for a small greenhouse. That way we could grow fresh vegetables well into fall. Possibly even winter.

The HH still has to spackle the ceilings in the back room but that will have to wait until next week.
Can you believe it’s the end of September already? How did that happen!? I hope you have a great day. Peace Out.

Well that milk Mavis is something else. An Amish market we go to outside of Lancaster Pa every once in a while (for bulk spices etc.) carries a milk that is orange milk. Tastes like an orange popcicle!!! Had to try it and while it was darn good wouldn’t want it all the time. The mid Atlantic area got hit so bad and will take forever to get things back to normal, glad it wasn’t a problem for all of you. Everything you are doing looks wonderful.

Do you have squash vine borer up there? They always kill my zucchini mid-summer. 🙁

So far so good here in Maine.

You’re going to have to expand on this statement. What do you mean??

It’s not even Christmas or St. Patrick’s Day! Someone is going to need to try that mint chocolate chip milk and report back to us for research purposes! Curious minds want to know – what do the locals use it for? Have you or HH tried it? Drinking, making icecream and milkshakes, but I’m not so sure about cereal… hmmm.
What a cool local specialty favorite in your area! Here in OH it’s local apple cider and local apple butter – buy it when you see it because it sells out fast.

Your plate of food looks scrumptious! Would you share the ingredients for the vegetables and how you cooked them? I can’t decide what all veggies are there. Ha. Thanks!
J in OH-IO says
I thought the same thing about the veggies, greens, and fluffy eggs!
