A big hello from Stow-on-the-Wold, one of my favorite villages in the Cotswolds! We are staying in the CUTEST rental property about a block or two from the main part of town and are loving it!!
I started making a little video as I left the cottage this morning but got distracted when I went into one of the shops to try on a pair of shoes… So I’ll have to go out again this afternoon and get some more footage.
I’ll post the video on my youtube channel later today. 🙂
Vacations… We all need them every once in a while and so far, so good.
We are really enjoying our trip. The HH has acclimated to driving on the other side of the road {and the 10 million rotary circles!} and {knock on wood} the car is all in one piece.
One of my absolute favorite bits about walking around towns in the UK are the front doors of people’s houses. {Is that weird?} Even the simplest pot of flowers out front looks grand.
And the topiaries… So many people have them.
And the climbing flowers!!! People are not shy about them here. They’re so common it’s crazy.
I guess when you live in a 500 year old house you don’t worry about the plants and vines rubbing up against the building.
These Penelope Chilvers espadrilles stopped me in my tracks and I had to tray them on. Can you imagine me wearing these? 😉 Maybe it’s a good thing they didn’t fit my wonky feet quite right.
Holey moley though, they were dreamy.
I did buy these wooden spoons though.
And some provisions from The Cotswolds Cheese Co.
The little cottage we rented is right across the street from The Porch House Pub so we popped by last night for a drink.
When the HH asked me if I wanted anything, I told him tea.
“You can’t get tea in a pub!” – HH
“This is England.” – Mavis
“So.” – HH
“Trust me, ordering tea in a pub in England is more common than asking for a glass of water.” – Mavis
Have I mentioned how much I love it here in Stow-on-the-Wold?
Here’s to a beautiful Sunday, wherever you may be.

I hope you’re wearing your new linen dresses!

I am surprised he didn’t ask how many people died in the pub, after all it was established in 947AD. If it is an Inn and has rooms for rent and sleeping, surely in the 1075+ years it has been open it has seen a few deaths and perhaps ghost stories.
