I thought I’d give a little update on what we’ve been up to over at the studio. Cottage? I don’t even know what to call it. All I know is that I really like working on house projects and staying busy.
I don’t think I’d do well in a traditional job or working in a cubicle, that’s for sure. I like having 10 things going on at once. Maybe I’m weird. I don’t know.
Anyway, the tile in the downstairs bathroom is done!!
We picked out a textured sand colored tile for the entryway and power room area and used 18” x 24” tiles. The HH decided to lay them in a vertical pattern to make the space look a bit longer.
We thought it would be a nice contrast since the wood flooring is running the other direction and didn’t want everything to be too matchy matchy. I think it was the right choice.
Sadly the HH won’t be able to refinish the oak hardwood flooring until the spring.
Mainly because we prioritized getting the outside projects done first. Things like a new roof, scraping the old chippy paint off the house, exterior painting, moving the fence and pulling up the old plants.
We have plenty of small indoor projects to work on this winter, mostly patching walls, scraping wood beams and painting. But still, I’m excited to have a nice big winter project to work on.
The HH, probably not so much {that poor, tortured man} but at least it will keep him from frittering away his time watching cat videos on the internet.
And we’ll be able to stay warm while working together too. So that’s a plus.
The HH said this is probably the 40th toilet he has installed. Skills. We’ve all got them. 😉
So things are coming along nicely.
Once I get another coat of paint on this trim I’ll head upstairs and start painting the teeny tiny bathroom up there.
But hey! New tile, new paint and a new toilet in the powder room. Yee-Haw!
I’m a happy girl.

I wish I could breeze through house projects as fast as you guys do. It looks great and I like the large plank tile.

Yes, love the long tiles and the orientation your HH chose for them.

Would you please consider doing a l’il tutorial on patching walls? I swear I try but I can never get the patch even.

How about calling it “The Lobster House Annex”. That covers all the basics. It’s unbelievable how fast you two get things done. And I hope you chose a high rise toilet. Congrats on picking an elongated one :)) really lol’d at the number of toilet installs! He should be a toilet salesman.
