There has been a definite nip in the air the past few days and so I decided it was time to pick up a few pumpkins.
Okay, so maybe a few dozen pumpkins? I don’t think you can ever have enough pumpkins. I mean, the more the merrier, right?
I LOVE decorating for fall, don’t you?
Wendle the crow is back this year… Guarding Bird Cottage.
I still haven’t figured out how we’re going to decorate the Lobster House for fall {maybe some pumpkin buoys?} but Bird Cottage was a cinch.
Pumpkins, cabbage and mums are always a winning combination in my book.
And this year we even have mini pumpkins and spinner gourds climbing up the fence.
I was hoping there’d be a few more squash vines on the front of the fence but with the hydrangeas planted behind the fence and the Shasta daisy plants in the front, I think they sort of ran out of growing space.
Cramming plants into every nook and cranny. It’s sort of what I do. Maybe one of these days I’ll learn. I’m not holding my breath though.
Sweater weather… And puffy coats. It’s almost time!! Yee-Haw.

Mavis there is no such thing as to to many pumpkins just can’t happen. You have already learned your lesson there is no reason to learn not to keep cramming flowers, pumpkins etc. into every nook and cranny that is what they are for. Bird Cottage is looking darling and oh so sweet. Just perfect if you ask me. We have had such wonderful very begining of fall here in the mid Atlantic but darn if above hot temps and humidity is back next week big time darn. Not looking forward to winter but I sure do love fall oh so much.

I would love nothing more than to have a heap of pumpkin-y goodness on my porch, however the squirrels and chippies have decimated them. Every. Single. Year. I’ve tried all the tricks, and nothing keeps those greedy little guys from them.
