It’s freezing cold outside. Like cold down to my bones freezing. So I have zero plans to venture out into that winter weather. I don’t even plan on opening the door and giving the cold any chance to come creeping in. The fireplace is going, the thermostat is jacked up and I’m heating up the oven for a long day of baking.
Nothing warms your soul like a plate of fresh baked cookies. Here are my top 25 picks for Christmas cookie recipes. I’ve broken them up into convenient little categories. Pick and choose and pile them high on plates to give to friends, neighbors & the UPS man {especially if he’s a hottie like mine!}.
Chocolatey Goodness:
I didn’t save the best for last, but put them smack dab at the top. There’s chocolate in the category name so you automatically know these cookies are going to rock your socks off. Chocolate is the magic word after all {anyone who tries to tell you “please” or “thank you” is the magic word definitely does not deserve a plate of your cookies}.
A cookie list is never complete without staples like the sugar cookie, snickerdoodle or chocolate chip cookie. Sometimes you don’t mess with tradition, and that’s totally true when it comes to cookies. These old standbys should be the main event on your Christmas cookie plate. All other cookies should pretty much bow down to them.
These bad boys are the next generation of cookie. They’re the hip new kids in town and after sampling so many of them my guts hurt, I think they’ve more than earned a place on the plate and in your go-to holiday recipe list.
These cookies make your plate pretty. They’re the missing link tying all your other cookies together and polishing off the perfect Christmas cookie plate. But they’re not just a pretty face. Man-oh-man are they tasty too. Double whammy. Eye AND mouth candy. Sweet!
