Last week when I asked you if you ate plain yogurt, {because I tried it and it tasted like paste} several people mentioned they liked to add PB Fit powder into their morning bowl of yogurt.
And well, after looking up the ingredients {peanuts, coconut sugar, salt} I asked my husband if he would look for it when he went to Costco to pick up salad supplies.
He found it!! So we decided to give it a whirl.
Costco Shopping Trip $75.11
We can’t seem to stop eating salads and avocados this year! Which is a good thing if you ask me.
I could eat Costco’s Mediterranean Crunch salad every day of the week. The HH though, he seems to top out at about 3 salads a week before he looses interest.
Market Basket Shopping Trip $8.28
I seriously think bananas are one of the cheapest foods on the planet. The price hasn’t changed in the last 10 years.
Okay, so we tried the PB Fit on our yogurt. One serving size is two tablespoons {60 calories, 7 grams of protein} so that’s what I tried.
And you know what? I really liked it. Peanut butter and banana… It’s a winning combination, right?
The HH tried the powder though and he wasn’t super excited about it. I told him we should try it in a smoothie… Maybe he’d like that better?
The {non fat Greek} yogurt was still the consistency of paste, but with the PB Fit and all the add-ins, I didn’t mind.
I suppose I could always thin it out a little with some milk… But I’m too lazy.
Fact: Dried apricots in yogurt is a no go for me. The texture is just kind of weird.
But blueberries, bananas and the peanut powder was a winning combination. I think I had it four times last week.
Hannaford $21.35
We bought a lot of fruits and vegetables last week!
Glorious salad #1.
Glorious salad #2.
Does it get any healthier than that?
Glorious salad #3.
Bacon and avocado sandwich. Yes Please!
Beans and fried eggs with fresh tomatoes. A winning combination.
I’m kind of particular about my cookies. Crispy edges are my favorite.
And last but not least… Beef Bourguignon. The HH made it for a second time and it turned out PERFECT.
He should turn PRO it was so good.
It was a good week in the food department around here. How was it at YOUR place? Did you make anything crazy good? Curious minds want to know.
And hey, thanks for all the recommendations on yogurt. I’m excited to try a few of the brands you mentioned.
Have a good one,

Don’t cringe, but I’m in the greek yogurt every morning camp with an egg on top! Savory breakfast rules! Nigella Lawson did a great video for Turkish eggs some time ago and my DH made this for me every morning for years. Getting to work by 5am is a challenge and he wanted me full of protein and out the door on time. Work days I skip the garlic, but Aleppo pepper is the key (and can be found everywhere nowadays.) That and a hunk of fresh toasted bread = breakfast for champions!

We use the PB powder to make smoothies. Yogurt, PB powder, banana, a small amount of cocoa along with a bit of sweetner (Splenda, or maple syrup). Pour all into the blender, give it a whirl oh and a few ice cubes. Pretty darn good.
Annette says
I use a frozen banana instead of ice cubes.

Me, too, but I use a Premier Protein drink for an additional 30g of protein. PB Fit, Premier Protein (choc or vanilla), Greek Yogurt, and 1/2 frozen banana. Yummy!!!

Everything looks yummy. What recipe is he using for the beef? Would love to try it.
Ate tamale bowls this week. I love the green chili and chicken tamales at Trader Joes in the refrigerated section. They don’t have a greasy aftertaste. Did chopped lettuce, ground turkey taco meat, tamales, cheddar, tomatoes, sauteed peppers and onions, avocado, sour cream, lime juice, salsa, and a homemade jalapeno ranch sauce.

I found that Mediterranean Crunch salad at Shaw’s last week and I loved it so I will definitely be buying more.
I’m doing easy crockpot stuff lately. Lot’s of shredded chicken in various ways so I can use it the rest of the week. Last week it was BBQ chicken, this week is with taco seasoning and sofrito. I did make bbq ribs yesterday and they were a nice treat.

There is a sugar free version of PB Fit too. That’s the one I prefer. Happy to hear you gave it a try!

I don’t understand. If you like Greek yogurt but don’t like the non-fat version, why are you forcing yourself to eat the non-fat version?
debbie in alaska says
I wonder if people realize that low or non-fat is by some standards much less healthy than full fat due to the chemical process required to remove the fat – and they often use sugar as a filler as well. I was told by a nutritionist a few years back that full fat was healthier than low or non fat. She lovingly referred to the low fat and non fat items as a “chemical sh*t storm” and I haven’t ever forgotten it.
Mimi says
I’m on team full-fat dairy. The nutrition researchers I trust see no benefit to nonfat dairy. I switched to full-fat several years ago. I’ll be 70 (yikes) soon and have normal cholesterol and blood pressure and zero medications. The full-fat yogurt is delicious.
Catherine says
I make my own whole milk yogurt. I don’t do any of the non-fat/low-fat. I like it how nature intended. I also add fresh blueberries and chopped pecans for some crunch.
Claire says
Re your Bacon and avocado sandwich… in Australia we have a BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato) and a BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato). So good.
Marcia L Moore says
I am a greek yogurt snob, and Fage is the only kind I’ll eat. I eat the 2% version. Sometimes the 5%. If all I can find is the fat free, I’ll buy a small one.
Claudia says
Try some PB Fit in overnight oats with almond milk!
