Okay, so I think you all know I am a sucker for not only accents but British and Irish tv shows, so when Jane left a comment the other day recommending The Shelbourne Hotel series I just had to check it out. I’ve only watched a few episodes so far {seasons 1 and 2 are available on Amazon Prime right now} but I am hooked.
“For nearly two hundred years, the Shelbourne Hotel has been the beating heart at the centre of Dublin. It’s a piece of living history, and has hosted high society, royalty, revolutionaries, world leaders and modern day celebrities. Now, for the first time, film crews have been allowed exclusive access to the front and back of house, finding out what it takes to deliver five star service to some of the worlds most demanding clientele.”
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

So glad you are enjoying it! I wish there were more seasons! You might also like Harrow: A Very British School on Amazon and Weekend Aristocrats on Netflix. I love all things British too 🙂

Perhaps this is the group to ask for help.
A few years ago while visiting my brother, we watched a series from Canada about an inept and funny community theater group. Does anyone have a clue as to the name? I’d like to watch it again, and unfortunately don’t have my brother to ask anymore.
Thank you in advance.

Another recommendation is “Rosemary and Thyme”. A lovely “cozy” mystery series (3 seasons, I think), featuring 2 lady gardeners. Remember Angela Landsbury in “Muder, She Wrote”? This is like “Murder, They Garden”! I thoroughly loved it and Mavis I think it’ll be right up your alley. Don’t remember where I saw it online, I was so hooked on it I binged right through all the episodes. Cheers

I too am an Anglophile. Love the Shelburne hotel series. There is a similar one about an Irish hotel. I’m currently hooked on YouTube narrow boat travels in the English canal system. After watching a multitude of single people living on the canals and their travels, I’m currently enjoying the travels of an older couple, look for Jim Hawkins, traveling with her 93 year old dad. An amazing family. The canals allow you to view the “back side” of England and the beautiful countryside.
