This is one of those movies that I have issues with but appreciate enough to watch it again every once in a while. It’s both troubling and moving–definitely worth watching once.

Haven’t seen it yet!

Hi Mavis,
I read your blog pretty regularly and I have a movie suggestion that I don’t recall seeing listed – “Secondhand Lions” with Michael Caine and Robert Duvall (I should just stop there) it is a great family or adult movie. My son has LOVED it since he was about 9 or 10 and it is our “go-to” movie when we can’t find anything else at the library – we’ve never tired of it. It’s just good old fashion story telling…Check it out and hope you enjoy it!

I second your comment, such a fun movie!

“Secondhand Lions” is an awesome movie! I’m not usually one to re-watch films, but this one is definitely the exception. Have probably seen it half a dozen times and love is more each time. It is indeed superb storytelling.

Brad Pitt.

I saw that movie when I was in college and fell in love. I have probably seen over 20 times! Love the story but not so much the ending, Brad Pitt isn’t bad to look at either. ๐

Which movie has Brad Pitt in it? Because of the ignorant things he said about post-partum depression, I will not watch anything he is in.
As you can tell, I have strong feelings about this subject. If only one person listened to him and didn’t get help, it is one too many.

Are you sure you not thinking of Tom Cruise? I don’t know what Brad Pitt ever said about PPD and, honestly, that doesn’t really sound like something he would weigh in on. I could be wrong, but thought I should point out that Tom Cruise definitely had some goofy thoughts on the matter. Hard to know how one would know much about PPD without a uterus, but I guess some folks have an opinion on everything!
