The HH decided to rip up the ugly tile in the entry and powder room yesterday.
What a mess.
The hardwood floors need to be re-done too but those will have to wait until spring. This winter we’re just focusing on the bathrooms, the bedrooms and eventually what will become the living room.
One room at a time. That’s the plan. Although I think I’m falling a little behind on my end of the deal. I’m supposed to be the paint and trim girl but he’s moving faster than I am right now. 😉
Hopefully I’ll have enough time to prep the walls and paint the bathroom before the tile goes in. I’m going to use my favorite Benjamin Moore Chantilly lace white color for the bathrooms.
We’re still not sure what we’re going to do for fixtures but there’s still plenty of time for that so I’m not worried.
We decided to go with a textured sand colored 18×24 tile. I think it will look nice with the white walls and vanity we picked out for the space.
Nothing too flashy. Just neutral and simple.
I thought about going with a painted cabinet like we did in our last bathroom, but ultimately decided I wanted a totally different look over at the studio.
More of a warm Napa Style/English cottage vibe if you know what I mean. Nothing too funky. Not the red, white and blue coastal look that I adore. Something a little different.
I can totally picture it in my head, and I know if I just take my time and pick out things that I love, it will all come together in the end.
It always seems to.
Have a great day everyone. 🙂

Y’all are amazing! That looks so nice. I wish I could borrow you and your HH for a few days. My house could use some TLC. I am about to try some diy repairs for my garage door seals and paint the trim. I hope it turns out well. Lol.

I loooooooooooooove posts about The Studio. It’s like my own side project that I’m working on (vicariously). Middle-age delight! 🙂 So happy the opportunity came available for you and HH to expand your property there in Maine.

That was really ugly tile. Good decision.

Is there any chance you can post the name of that vanity and where it is from?
I have apartments and we were able to get a similar vanity although a darker finish, from Home Depot which was a stock item.
About 5 months ago they discontinued it and we bought the remaining available vanities.
Still looking for a decent, affordable yet upscale looking replacement.
Thanks!

Pottery Barn: Alderson vanity. I have never been disappointed with a vanity we’ve bought from Pottery Barn.

I have textured tile that came with our house. I hate it, it’s hard to keep clean and to clean.
