Herb garden on a Southern California rooftop. I wonder how many people live in this building?
This organic rooftop garden is growing on the roof of a restaurant in Chicago.
Akashi, Tokyo rooftop garden at St. Luke’s International Hospital. Very pretty!
Rooftop garden in San Francisco. I wonder if it’s used as a putting green? Great selling point.
Gardening in storage totes is a pretty clever idea. Great for people who are living in an apartment with a small deck.
Have you ever tried growing anything on your roof before? I think it’s a pretty cool idea, but the Handsome Husband would totally have me committed if I started growing squash on the roof. He might just have to put his foot down on my gardening madness.
Which one is your favorite? I think mine is the second picture.
Have a great Friday,
First one is my favorite – you got me with the palm trees in the background! I’m a tropical girl at heart.
McMahon hall over at UW has a garden on the the roof over the dining hall/garage. My now husband and I discovered it while I was a student and enjoyed picking stuff from it. We picked a few GIANT zucchinis and made bread.
I LOVE Uncommon Ground in Chicago! I live about 2 blocks from the restuarant and the food is great and the fact that they grow some of it on the rooftop makes it taste that much more amazing 🙂

I like the San Francisco roof tops that connect. The roof of one our newest halls at the state University in our town has a green rooftop. We made the top 10 in the last Sierra magazine for greenest schools, especially for the biodigesters.
