I brought some free discarded bok choy home from the grocery today for my chickens. When I asked the produce guy if I could have the bok choy scraps to take home for free he had a strange look on his face, like “Sure lady, if you’re hungry go ahead and take it.” I didn’t think twice about it until I got home it never occurred to me to explain to my new boyfriend in the produce section who hands out perfectly edible vegetables that I was going to feed it to my chickens.
I told the handsome husband about my new boyfriend in the produce section who gives me vegetable scraps and you want to know what he said? I’ll give you one guess.
He said, ” I can’t believe they haven’t thrown you out of there yet.” Now, if that doesn’t sound supportive I don’t know what does.
