Here we are the middle of September and our backyard garden is still alive and kickin’. I know many of you are done growing tomatoes for the year but by some miracle, ours are stilling hanging in there. We have a third crop of beans getting ready to set flowers in the garden boxes as well as beets, carrots and potatoes growing.
I am hoping to harvest the beets, carrots and potatoes around Thanksgiving time and I’ve got more carrots and beets growing in the front yard with hopes of a winter harvest.
The small side garden along the patio is so bare! Lucy and I harvested potatoes earlier in the week and then planted garlic and chive seeds in it’s place. I also transplanted a few rosemary and sage plants as well. I suppose we won’t see any action in this area until spring.
Summer casualty. I guess I’ll be buying a new arborvitae tree this fall. Oh well. It happens.
How is YOUR garden doing these days?
This year’s garden is being sponsored by the awesome folks at Botanical Interests Seed Company. You can check out their website HERE, order their new 2015 Garden Seed Catalog, or see the seeds I’ll be growing in my garden this year HERE.
