I am your typical housewife living in high maintenance suburbia. I have a handsome husband, 2 kids and a flock of pet chickens. I try and feed my family with $100 a month. With the help of coupons, gardening and bartering I am able to squeeze the most out of our grocery budget and still manage to have a little fun along the way.
You know what one of the hardest things on the planet is? Narrowing down your list of favorite things about your very favorite thing! I could fill post after post about my favorite gardening tools and supplies and, oh wait, I totally already do that! So trying to narrow that list down and cram it in one post is so dang hard.
But for all you gardeners out there, novice or expert, it’s always nice to know what tools, seed, products, etc. have been tried and loved by a fellow gardener. I’ve been your guinea pig and here’s my big fat list of all things gardening that I love love love:
Gardening books hold kind of a special place in my heart. I wouldn’t be the gardener I am today {or maybe not a gardener at all} if it weren’t for a few gardening books I picked up years ago. I spent almost the entire winter of 2008/2009 reading up on gardening. I found some incredible reads that taught me so much and made me realize how much I didn’t know. So I’ve never stopped reading gardening books.
Here are just a few of my favorites, although if we’re being honest, narrowing this list down was virtually impossible. Gardening books are right up there with the bible {okay, not quite, but you get the idea!}.
Three Tined Garden Rakeby Tuli Fisher {I visit him every year at the home and garden show like a total stalker}. He makes the best tools I’ve ever used and they are worth every penny. ♥ ♥ ♥ His tools make great gifts too.
Four-Season Harvest– I used used this book at our last house as a greenhouse growing guide. I visited Four Seasons Farm a few years ago and and got to not only meet Elliot, but check out his gardens too.

Do you have a book recommendation for square foot gardening?
Accidentally wore my Sloggers to my son’s OT appointment yesterday! (The red ones with chickens all over them!). Drove 1/2 way there and thought, “Uh oh!” Most comfortable shoes ever!!!!!
