That Mrs. Hillbilly. She loves me. Dillettante Mint Truffles…. Have you tried them? It just wouldn’t be Christmas without them. I wonder how long 4 bags will last me? 😉
Testing out madeleine cookie recipes…. it’s a tough gig.
So is figuring out the best recipe to bake for the neighborhood cookie party that’s coming up next weekend. I still have 2 more recipes to try but so far the HH likes the madeleines the best {I’ll post the madeleine recipe on the blog tomorrow}.
Sugarbush cheese. I wanted to make sure we’d have have enough to get us through the holidays. 😉
And for our weekend guests.
And to build the guys stamina for yarn shopping. I’m pretty it was the first time my husband had ever stepped foot in a yarn store. Or listened to a salesperson talk about buttons for 5 minutes. 😉 Bahahhahaa.
Pizza. It’s pretty much the easiest food on the planet to serve for large family gatherings…. 20+ people, 5 large pizzas and the cheese pizza was the first to go. I don’t know why, but I was surprised more people didn’t go for the combos.
Tuckaway Tavern. The best steak tips on the planet.
And the smores cake dessert wasn’t bad either. Other than cookies, I don’t recall making anything from scratch last week. This time of year though, anything goes. If you ask me, December is all about food, family and pants with a little elastic in them.
There are only 27 days to go until it’s time to make those new Years Resolutions…. You might might as well make the best of it, right? 🙂 🙂 🙂

Thank you so much for featuring my Etsy shop Islandia Designs. I know you are a big supporter of small business. I have always loved to sew and really enjoy making pillows. I use a plastic template when I cut the pillows so I can see exactly how the pattern will look. I like to think of each pillow as a piece of art! Thanks!

Tuckaway is good but also try the Common Man. They’re all over the state, food is amazing!! My favorite location is the Ashland location.
I don’t know what is on that pizza, but it looks really good.

Mavis, you have always talked about steak tips and how you love them, but… what the heck?!?! I have never seen them at our meat counter. Do they have another name? Are you cutting up at larger chunk of meat to make the tips? Do I just live in the wrong area of the US to see this awesomeness? Please advise… 🙂

Funny Funny! I know nothing really about cuts of meat but I would think maybe it’s just a steak cut up? I have no idea. I’ll ask next time. 🙂

Please, please, more about the yarn shop. A constant knitter wants to know! Plus, think in a year, I’ll be returning to New England.
