Things are starting to heat up around here and I don’t mean the weather!! The roadside finds have been pretty sweet around here and I just had to share a few of them with you.
Last week I found a cute little bathroom waste basket but it was too small so I ended up donating it.
A few days later I walked by the exact same spot and this time they had an old hose holder and a white ceiling fan out on the curb!!
It was in pristine condition!!! So you bet I swooped that baby up and brought it home. I told the HH that I suspected someone was redecorating.
Hot dog! A free ceiling fan {and I needed one too!}. Don’t you love when that happens?
Photo credit: Random guy walking his dogs who probably thought I was a nutter. 🙂
Did I show you this toddler bed someone put on the curb? Seriously!?
It was a beauty. I didn’t need it though but I am beginning to think a fun side gig might just be going around town on trash day and picking up all the good stuff and having a yard sale at the end of summer.
Maybe if I run out of things to do around here I might revisit that idea.
My best find over the weekend though, was lobster rope!
Thank goodness I was on my bike and not on a walk when I spotted it. I would have had to drag it home.
Fun fact: The bucket on the back of my bike can hold 600 POUNDS!!
I haven’t tested it out yet, but hey, at least I know if I find a stack of gold bars alongside the road I’ll be able to haul them home.
I’ve had my bike for a year now and it’s hard to believe I’ve already put 361.3 miles on it simply riding around town. I bet I hit 500 by the end of summer. 🙂
I love roadside finds!!!
Have YOU found anything good lately? Curious minds want to know.
Peace Out,
~Mavis

Friends stopped by and said they were heading to the dump next to get rid of a like new leather recliner that was on the back of their truck. We swapped them two home grown zucchinis for it and we were both happy. Score!

Could have Lucy a fancy dog bed with the toddler bed!

My husband used to dumpster dive and brought home a like new Kitchenaid. That got a lot of use by me making cookies and cakes and pastries!

We’re moving and put a recliner, desk, office chair, cabinet and more things and people were hoarding over things. One elder lady was on a oxygen tank and was about a foot away from item and they grabbed it from her and that made me mad. The next day a guy came by and told me thank you for the recliner that he picked up. Mavis you always find items you need!

Are you sure your husband will agree to install the ceiling fan? I suspect he will say someone died under or near it…LOL

Hahaha! You’re so right!

I don’t think you’re a nutter!!! I am not so lucky with fun road side finds.

That’s a cool little monitor!!!
I have considered doing the same thing, but I think it’s not the season of life for me where I could do it well. But, it could be a great side gig kind of thing if you have the space and ability to let things go when needed.
Sadly I know three women in my neighborhood who are hoarders. Two of them it is very apparent, the third is better at hiding it. It’s a slippery slope.
