Sunday Brunch Recipe – Cinnamon Buttermilk Waffles with Pecans

I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday morning than laying in bed with the pillows propped up and eating buttermilk waffles off a breakfast tray with the windows open.

If you don’t already have a favorite waffle recipe, you’ll want to print a copy of this and give it a try.

These buttermilk waffles are not only light and fluffy, but a big crowd pleaser.  My family loves them, and I hope yours does too.

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda {15 Cool Uses for Baking Soda}
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
4 eggs
2 cups buttermilk {How to Make Buttermilk}
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup pecans, chopped and lightly toasted {optional}
1 cup fresh fruit, sliced {optional}

Directions

Mix the wet ingredients with the dry.  Cook on a lightly greased waffle iron.  Sprinkle fresh berries and  pecans over the top.
