Well the bathroom “refresh” has begun. We are officially without a shower, a washer, dryer and are down to one toilet in the house. Which is pretty exciting {but not in a good way}.
If all goes as planned the tile people should be finished on Monday. We’ll see.
I’ll be ready with the paint once they’re finished and we all know what color that’s going to be. 😉
We still need to select a shower head, a new toilet and a washer and dryer set. But those are the HH’s department, not mine. Fingers crossed he picks out something soon otherwise I’m out of here.
The color of the vanity, the floor tile, the brass hardware choices are all a little out of my comfort zone, but I’m hoping everything will come together in the end.
I don’t know if I’m getting more adventures as I get older, or finally just tired of all white bathrooms, who knows.
A big thanks for all your suggestions on the teeny tiny cubby {closet?}. Sadly no walls can be moved {there is a staircase right above} and so we really have a small space to work with.
The idea of putting a mini door on the open space wouldn’t work either because a door couldn’t open inward {there’d be no space to put anything} or outward {it would hit the radiator}.
I still haven’t figured it out, but maybe a low laundry basket and some sort of shelf would be nice? Maybe a tall skinny rolly cart? Or a funky curtain of some sort?
I don’t know. Maybe I’ll just have to wait and see how I feel about it after the floor tile is down. All I know is this… That room is going to look 100x better than it did before.
That’s it. That’s all I’ve got for today.
I hope you have a nice day. And a nice shower this morning. And an extra toilet in your house. Oh, and some fancy machines that will wash your clothes.

Have you considered installing a tilting door for the little nook? One where a laundry basket is attached to the door, & the door tilts open to reveal an attached laundry basket? Not sure if I’m making sense, but sorta like a laundry shoot or library book return that opens from the top & reveals a basket. Unless you need the nook for additional storage, that could close it up & make a door work there rather than just an open space with visible laundry basket. You could even install a basket on wheels with a door attached to the frame the basket sits in, then could still have a shelf of some sort deeper inside the nook.

Great idea, in fact you could make it a tilt-out laundry bin. How about that?

I like the idea of a curtain … easy to swap out when a new fabric when inspired by your travels or books or anything, really.

I have seen sliding under-stairs storage units that I have always thought were pretty cool. Unfortunately, none of my staircases have usable space under so they’re just a pipedream for me.

What about a door that slides out? My kitchen trash lives inside my island and it looks like a regular cabinet, but you pull it out like it’s an enormous drawer – it’s mostly just a sliding drawer base with slots for a trash and recycling can and then a fake cabinet front. Could potentially do something like that for a hamper?

At this angle that opening looks deep. Maybe a little curtain and you store your mops and brooms horizontal in it?
Your colors seem very classic to me.
