If you want to come home with a haul like you’re about to see… You’ll need to have an incredible amount of extra time on your hands. I sat in a burgundy leather chair (that was for sale) in 80 degree heat… for one hour while the homeowner continued to place things out for sale. Each time I saw her bring out something from her house or her garage that I liked… I snatched it up lickety split and added it to my pile (which I had to repeatedly fend off from other shoppers btw). More often than not I didn’t even bother to ask what she wanted for a particular item. I had spied the prices she was asking for the other various items lining her driveway and knew I was absolutely not going to haggle or barter with this woman. 🙂
1 Lobster Pot … I’ve never cooked lobster before… but now that I have the pot… I can!
1 Indiana Jones Hat, 1 blonde wig and a pirate hat with dreadlocks.
Ginormous Box of Golf Balls for Monkey Boy.
Whew… was that exhausting or what?

Wow! Now my question, and nosey one at that, would be: how much did some of those items cost, and what the heck is that last thing? I love yardsales, but around here, most of the stuff is crap.

I love yard sales also. In my small town the good deals are few and far between. Mavis i also want to know what is the last item? I love finding stuff at yard sales, you could never find that at the store.

What nice stuff. That rectangular baking pan is awesome, and those baskets and the salad bowl and wigs! You evidently knew what house to plant your behind in front of. Nice work!

FUN! Is that slip a Square Dancing Slip?

I love yard sales…you totally scored! And I am cracking up that you are calling 80 degrees heat…it’s 80 here today and we are calling it “cool”! Again, I need to move.

WOW…congrats on the bargains.

Fabulous! I’m coveting the wigs.

Unless I am mistaken, the lobster pot is also a juicer/steamer, which is perfect for making grape juice or for juicing raspberries to make seedless raspberry jelly! I LOVE my juicer/steamer and looked for one at yard sales for a long time before I finally broke down and bought one. You really scored!
Jules says
Wow! What a score! Around here, I rarely find such nice ‘junk’

Awesome! I had to look up the last thingy too – interesting. My favorite was the shelf – looks like good CD size. Were you not going to haggle or barter because her prices were so good? That’s the hard part for me at garage sales – haggling… I can’t believe so much of it was new! Great score and you didn’t even need any coupons 🙂

Your salad hand carved utensils looks EXACTLY the same as the ones my son brought home last summer from his missions trip to Uganda!

Look for annual sales like Balboa Island, California, the last Sat. of April. I have gone 9 years and flown in for the sale and to
visit my daughter in California. Found good stuff there. LaTerra area has sale the same day (another area)\
There is a website for garage sales but I can’t find it.
I managed to get a trunk load at the thrift stores in Cour d alene, Idaho. 6 to 8 stores all on 4th Avenue (one way street I live
60 miles away so only get there when I use the airport in Spokane.
